“Great all round”
Reviewed November 2, 2012

A quiet location and a lovely English home, the open fire had just been set when we arrived which was very welcome indeed.

Our room was spacious with everything that you could want as was the bathroom.

Wonderful hosts in Annie and Christopher and you felt nothing was too much trouble and they took the time to get to know you a little.

A great selection for breakfast and well cooked, papers to read etc, couldn't ask for more.

I enjoyed staying here very much. The welcome was warm and genuine, the bedroom was beyond my expectation, cosy and spacious. The breakfast was better than you will get in any hotel. Quite simply this was a first class stay, and I will be back.

My husband and I stayed at the White House as we had booked to go the The Harrow in Little Bedwyn for our wedding anniversary.
We were greeted by our hosts and had a fantastic welcome. Very relaxed, kind and homely.

We were then shown to our room which was very clean, warm and cosy. Annie the owner even came back to the room to give us some flapjacks - very nice touch.

Unfortunately I didn't make it for breakfast, but my husband was truly overwhelmed by both the food and the hospitality.

Annie and Christopher, a truly gracious couple who know how to make guests feel special.

Just had our second visit to this comfy and characterful B&B and found it just as good as the first time. Unlike many similar places there is a real sense of being welcomed into Annie and Christopher's home. The warmth is evident as soon as you arrive, yet everything is professional and there is nothing intrusive. This is a clever balancing act and makes The White House a lovely place to stay. A real find.

What makes a great B&B?

Well, however you answer that question, the White House in Little Bedwyn has it in spades, presented with great ease, a tremendously friendly welcome and a keenness to have each and every guest enjoy their time in Annie & Christopher’s home.

This was not our first visit to the White House, two us have spent numerous weekends there over the years, usually for a mixture of business and pleasure. It was for this reason, that when four of us planned a weekend away, for a family celebration, we heard the White House call our name.

This time we extended our stay and it allowed us to enjoy afternoon tea in the living room with a log fire. Dinner was expertly prepared by Annie, and Christopher made sure of our comfort as the candles flickered a welcome to the table.

The rooms are as comfortable as all the other comments suggest, the shower and toiletries are heavenly and with home made flapjacks on offer with the tea and coffee facilities in your room, it’s incredibly easy to just settle in and relax fully.

The celebrations were a huge success, and as in any truly great event, one must never underestimate the importance of those working hard behind the scenes - and so the Oscar for first class supporting cast must, should and deservedly go to Annie & Christopher – with our very grateful thanks.

We tied in a stay here with dinner at The Harrow. Tucked away in a beautiful village, our arrival at the White House was welcomed with a wonderful cup of tea in front of a roaring fire - heaven!! Our room was lovely and had everythIng you could wish for including organic toiletries on the ensuite and little flapjacks and a wide range of teas as part of the tea/coffee tray. Breakfast was a delight and catered to suit all tastes. My personal favourite was the homemade rhurbarb compote served with Greek yoghurt.. Yummmm. I would highly recommend the White House and our thanks to Annie and Christopher for their warmth and generosity

Selected this as we were booked into a local restraurant for a special meal treat.
And it was a perfect choice.
The reception by Annie when we arrived was very friendly and personal. The room was wonderful and the subtle attention to every detail delightful. The homemade treats with the coffee wonderful, which we enjoyed in the lounge in front of the roaring fire. Christopher came to introduce himself and we had a pleasant conversation. To put it into a nutshell, Annie and Christopher made us feel so welcome we felt nearly part of the family. Even when their children turned up the next day they introduced themselves to me. Friendlyness and warmhearted is obviously a family trait.
Breakfast was all anyone could ask for - and more. We can only agree with the comments re the breakfast in the recent review from AKHLondon
