The hotel is supposed to be attached to the station but the confusing signage created a very tortuous journey. This is a typical business hotel - clean, small rooms. Breakfast was included and the fare was perfectly acceptable for the price.
Staff were pleasant and helpful.
I arrived late evening and the room issued was very noisy as it faces the tracks. As the hotel was full, they managed to find an ‘emergency room’ , located facing the street just above reception. It was definitely quieter and I had a good nights sleep. Kitakami is a sleepy town and as it turned out, there was a heavy blizzard so the Main Street was very quiet.
The reason for overnighting here was to visit the Minchinoku Folk Village but I had to abandon the trip due to the heavy blizzard the next morning. Even the train to Morioka was affected.More
