This isn't a bad onsen, but it's not what one would call a resort onsen. When we checked in there was a large group of elderly Japanese checking in. It's as if this hotel is more for medicinal purposes than luxury or relaxation.
We had a large room with a private out door bath, but the water was scalding and you could not control it. Like most Onsens where you have hot and cold valves. There is a nice view of Hirado Castle and dinner was above average. Come for the view and decent dinner and don't expect much more. Hotel is old and Hirado hasn't been part of the the onsen tourism boom due to remote location I assume. The picture of outdoor bath is nice, but again water way to hot even for my japanese wife. More
