This is an exclusive, gated community. The community is made up of exquisite beachfront homes, mostly utilized during weekends...few residents during the week. At the entrance there are a few restaurants where the residents hang out in the afternoon and evenings...the dress is casual and the fare is light; i.e., hamburgers, chicken, etc....sandals/shorts type attire. In addition, it's a 5-minute drive to a commercial hub made up of businesses which sell everything you might need; with a 24-hour El Rey Supermarket. In addition, there's a medical clinic, San Fernando at the entrance which has state-of-the-art equipment.
My sister had to go there due to contracting a stomach virus for drinking the water and she was treated expeditiously and for gratis. Panama's gov't pays for these types of medical issues if they occur within 30 days of tourist arrival in the country...and the medications are also included. GREAT PR move on their part.
All ex-pat's and returning Panamanians even though naturalized American, are given a 15% discount for most everything you might purchase. I took full advantage of this benefit.
Back to the Coronado Community: Although most homes are in the Million $ range, there are some medium-priced ones; those mostly are the older homes.
All in all, a great place to be and enjoying the assurance that people you encounter would've passed through a security check. BTW, there's also a Police Station at the entrance of the property.More
