“SECRET LOCATION/STUNNING VIEWS”
Reviewed June 8, 2013

catch the ferry across to cacihas from cais de sodre only a few euros. When you get off of the ferry turn right along the waterfront and walk past all the derelict warehouses can feel a bit isolt isolated so if you,re a bit wary pop in a cab.we found the walk interesting though.the restaurant is right at the end you cannot go any further hence its name.Oh what a gem the food is delicious and plenty of it and good wine. The staff are very attentive and friendly and do not rush you.you almost feel like you,re suspended in time. Its a very romantic place the views are amazing you look back over the river to lisbon.we only went during the day but i would love to see the view when lisbon is lit up at night. We didn,t have to book but i should imagine you do in the height of the season. We will definately go back to this restaurant again.Almost reluctant to share our opinion as we would like to keep it a secret as long as possible.!!

“The most chilled out place”
Reviewed May 9, 2013

Go a couple of days into your trip, when you have got over the initial excitement of Lisbon are are settling in. This is a lovely place to go, read your book, look out over the sea without talking, drink lots of delicious green wine, eat beautifully grilled fish and suspend real life, it's magical. Agree with earlier posts that it feels slightly dodgy walking there from the ferry but that adds to the sense you are doing something different to the mainstream. I'd take a taxi if going there at night. Loved our waiter, nothing was too much trouble and he was v laid back.

“Best Kept Secret in Lisbon”
Reviewed May 6, 2013

Located across the Tagus river and not far from the old iron bridge, when the night sky is deep blue and the old Lisbon is alight, the view can be amazing. The place itself is an almost derelict hamlet on the tiniest harbour. It feels like a set for Rossellini film.

As explained in earlier posts, to get there simply catch the ferry from Cais de Sodré to Cacilhas and walk westward for half a mile, and you're there. The walk alongside the river can feel dodgy, so make sure you do not go there alone. I have never heard of any problem but it sure feel dark and uneasy.

Book a table in advance, make sure they get your name right, and do get the name of the guy who booked your table. You're in Portugal and things can be a bit "freestyle".

The food is simple, basic but of excellent quality. It is homely and wholesome traditional Portuguese. They mainly serve fish but they also have meat. Well, I tried the sardine with onions, and this did not go very well. Everybody else loved it. But if you're are too much a fish type of person, perhaps you should pass on this one. Cheap white wine (Vale dos Baris, €4.50 a bottle !)

Oh, and the staff is super friendly.

If you go to Lisbon, this one is a must !

For some reason it is mainly a tourists place ; locals do not seem to like the schlep. But again, it is not only the destination, it is about the journey. Make sure you plan your trip there cleverly and take note of the latest ferry back to Lisbon. Last time I checked the last ferry is at 1:20 am, and they tend to be fewer and far between after the peak hours. Make sure you know the time of the the one taking you back, waiting 40 minutes on the pier can be a killjoy.

“Excellent food, beautiful location.”
Reviewed May 2, 2013

This is a rare little restaurant, it requires a mildly complex journey to get there but is completely worth it, even for the scenery alone. I would highly recommend the monkfish for dinner, this isn't a portion you would get in the U.K, this was a full fish all for £15 and it was absolutely wonderful, the Portugese really know how to cook seafood. I would also suggest to bring your camera as the views from the end of the peninsula, where we were seated, were magnificent. There is even a skylift for further photography opportunities although we never had time to go up. If you are looking for somewhere romantic to take your bird, this is it Take a girl here to propose and you're definitely getting married. No doubt.
