Description: The "Farol" is a century-old restaurant, the oldest in Setubal and is known for good beer and good seafood, from their own aquariums. With a cozy atmosphere and a great ''Tejo'' river and Lisbon's view, it's a great place to be.The name "Farol" came from the lighthouse's existence in Cacilhas who once helped navigation of small boats, called "Cacilheiros".Cacilheiros are an easy transport to lots of people in Lisbon to the other side of the Tagus river. You can combine the great tour with the excelence to be able to lunch or dinner in Cacilhas and taste our fish or seafood.

“Great seafood restaurant in Cacilhas that you can reach by ferry from Lisbon”
Reviewed May 9, 2012

We took the metro to Cais do Sodré station and then the ferry to Cacilhas for a nice seafood lunch at " OFarol" (that's what the sign says). We enjoyed the ferry ride with a view of the Ponte 25 Abril bridge. The restaurant is on your right as you come off the ferry. It has a lots of inside seating with nice blue-white tablecloths. We went close to noon, so there was very little crowd. We had garlic shrimp (with piri piri hot sauce), bacalhau (cod) with seafood, and grilled octopus, all very good (as you can see from the photos). All dishes were fresh and very good. The price was in 10-17 euro range, with the codfish dish being most expensive.

“Delicious and fresh dishes!”
Reviewed September 12, 2011

I've been there three and I was totally satisfied with the taste and freshness of the fish dishes!
I highly recommend this. Even if you stay in Lisbon you can easily cross Teijo and spend a beautiful evening starting with a dinner at Farol and then a walk by Teijo and with the beautiful view of Lisbon and Ponte 25 Abril!

“Excellent seafood, do not miss it!”
Reviewed July 5, 2011

We went here on our Portuguese honeymoon and we didn't regret it one bit.
It's located right next to the ferry stop in Cacilhas/Almada, so you won't have to look for it too much.
The price range is medium-low, and the food is excellent!

If you plan to go on a weekend, make sure you arrive early - as the restaurant is well-known and becomes packed with hungry locals/tourists around 21:00.
One time we saw a line of ~30 people waiting patiently for a table to become available.

Do not miss: anything in the pictures :)
