We live in East Anglia and our friends live in the West Country. We wanted somewhere convenient that we could meet to see in the new year together. The Punchbowl was offering a very reasonable deal and we decided to give it a go.
Having read some of the reviews we were a little concerned about what we might find, we needn't have been, we had a great night! All the staff were very pleasant, the food was good, the drink selection was very good including well kept real ale at a reasonable price.
Our room was comfortable, a bit chilly as there was definitely a problem with the heating. Having said that the electric radiator provided soon took the chill off and we had a cozy nights sleep (eventually).
New Year's Day was bright and sunny and after a hearty breakfast we were able to walk round the Devils Punchbowl which is just over the road from the Hotel, a great start to the new year.
To sum up, a very enjoyable stay, we wish the hotel well for the future as they are definitely keen to make a success of the business.More
