Went with my hubby and friends and this was our second visit after wanting to return after a good time was had about a year ago. Nice pub with lots of character and a great looking and reasonably priced menu.
Sat just inside the main entrance and waited about 5 minutes for some attention which didnt come so had to go and find someone to take our drinks order. I was in fish and chip mode so ordered the cod but the waitress suggested the haddock was a better choice as it was a bigger portion and the chips were normal ones rather than bigger steak type ones. Not wanting to go against a staff recommendation three of us chose the haddock. The chips werent normal they were the frozen type and for a pub like this I wasnt expecting that. We got a shock when we started to eat the fish as it was pink in colour and resembled salmon although a bit paler. It tasted great and so I wasnt too bothered but I did make a mention about the color to the waitress when she came to ask if all was ok. She just laughed about the color and walked away. Anyway we finished our meal and didnt get any bad effects from eating it but I really don’t know what to make of it all, pink haddock!
Anyway I dont think we will be going again.
