A group of 12 of us came to The Dukes Head for a friends leaving meal. The food was fantastic and so was the service. The staff where so helpful, one drink was forgotten but as soon as we mentioned it, the drink appeared. I would definitely recommend going here. About a million times better then when it was the Village Inn

Having booked a table here for a meal on the 26th to celebrate passing my exams I was shocked they had no record of my booking. My partner and I was told to go bar and get a drink by the most polite, friendly and professional gentlemen I have ever met. A few minutes later we was told we had a table, our orders where taken quickly and we did not wait long for our food to be served. I had the pigeon and my partner had the duck terrine which where well cooked and tasty. We had the chateaubriand to share as our main and was gorgeous.

All in all I would recommended this restaurant as the customer service is outstanding. Thank you to the gentlemen who managed to fit us in despite the booking mis - understanding.

Went to the Dukes Head for Sunday Lunch for the first time this weekend. On the plus side, the decor is really nice with some comfortable looking soft seating areas. The dining room was also really nicely decorated with a mixture of standard tables and booths. The kids menu was a bit different from normal and the kids were both happy with the chicken lollipops.
Unfortunately when we asked for ketchup, the only one they had was a "Bloody Mary Ketchup" -this had both vodka and worcestershire sauce - not really suitable for the kids and they did not have any normal ketchup as they has run out.
My 10 yr old daughter ordered a salad with her main course and whilst the salad that came was very nice, not sure rocket, red onion, yellow tomato and pomegranate seed salad is one for kids - some carrot sticks, cucumber, cherry toms would have served much better.
Unfortunately they also ran out of all their bitters (and soon after this the Heinken also ran out) - pubs/restaurants should not run out of beer.
Service was also a tad on the slow side, especially as the restaurant did not appear full.
We will probably try this once more and hope that they have been shopping for ketchup and beer in the meantime. It will be a shame if they can't get some of these basics right as the food was really nice.

Dear Guest,

Thank you very much for taking the time to review us,

I am disappointed that your whole experience wasn't up to standard, if I may - explain a few words in order to clarify a few points;

On Tuesday 8th October, Our group; namely (P.C.D.G) launched a new set of Menu's including Lunch, Dinner, Fixed Price, Kids and a dedicated Sunday Lunch menu, this in mind to please everybody who steps foot in one of our Restaurants, However in any menu change, we are not going to get it right in the first few days but having said that, things could have been better on your first visit to us. This also includes Service, A week has now passed since our launch and I can promise you that all the teething problems we had with the new menu have now since vanished.

With regards to giving your daughter a bottle of our 'Bloody Mary Ketchup' containing a 1% trace of alcohol was a genuine mistake from our part. I can only apologize for this, these bottles are not to be used for guests and only for the Kitchen with certain dishes. Again a training issue from our part, in the mean time we are fully stocked again with our normal bottles and have spoken to the ordering department that this doesn't happen again.

We try not to run out of stock including beverages but please note that we do not stock Heineken anymore, we have taken this particular brand off our pumps around 2 months ago, and with regards to no Cask Ales having been on, this was due to Cask Ales having to settle for a minimum period of 24 hours before 'tapping'. This was available in the evening but unfortunately not when you visited. Again, please excuse us for this.

Last but certainly not least, the Kids salad; I have spoken to the Head Chef regarding the ingredients that go into our salad and as this is a directive from head office, I will speak to the whole management team and pass this information back to head office, if you decide to join us again, please advise your server on how you would like the ingredients in the salad.

It was nice to hear that you are prepared to join us again, if this is the case, please make yourself known to the Manager on duty who would love to chat with you.

Kind Regards,

Wes and the Team at the Dukes Head.

I recently visited the dukes head with a group of friends and was pleasantly surprised at how good it was. I had been told it was a good pub, but it was impressed. A friend had the scallops and I had the burger as a main. All 6 of us were really pleased with the high standard of food, and the presentation (especially of the dessert)
While it's not a rare find or anywhere near Michelin star it's certainly still good enough to make you go back again. The price isn't too bad either considering it's better than most pubs in the area...go here!

We went on a Saturday night, as we entered the atmosphere was great, busy but not crowded. We spoken to the gentleman who was at thhosting door as we wanted a table, he said would be a 15 minute wait but if we would like to get a drink and relax in the bar he would be with us when the table is ready which was fine we got a drink and waited in the bar. They had a real log fire burning away in the bar area, was really cosy. The gentleman who we had spoken to then come back up to us a while later and said the table was ready. When we sat down he explained the menu to us as was our first visit, he said his name was Luke and if we needed anything he would be close by so we ordered a bottle of wine with him and he introduced us to our waitress Megan who would look after us from then. Megan was fabulous throughout the entire meal recommending various dishes to us as we are very fusy and couldn't decide, we had a lamb rack at 21.95 and the ribeye at 17.95, the only way to describe them would be 'amazing'. We shared a chocolate brownie for dessert. When we was ready to pay Megan was at hand to assist, she explained about the customer survey which we have completed aswell. As we was leaving Luke asked about our experience which we thought was a nice touch to the end of the evening. First time visitors but will defiantly go back.
