I stayed here in preference to my usual B&B on a colleague’s recommendation and it is certainly reasonably priced, comfortable and well located for Sale town centre (although the roads into central Manchester are extremely busy and slow).

The first morning I could get no hot water through the shower or the tap and, at breakfast, it transpired that one of my party had experienced similar difficulties. The proprietor explained that if several people had just had a shower at the same time the system could take a quarter of an hour or so to refill itself.

I had the same problem the following morning and this has caused me to dock this establishment at least one star and I will not be staying there again from choice.

Stayed here with my husband & baby whilst working at local arts venue The Waterside. Cot was provided & high chair. Spacious clean room. When they heard our baby had a cold they offered an extra blanket. So thoughtful. Good, cooked breakfast included in v reasonable rates. Can eat there in evening on weekdays. We used the swimming pool over the road, local park & child friendly library. Plus The Waterside puts on children's theatre. Tram to city centre within 2 minute walk.

I have stayed in Sale for nearly 6 months at a nearby B&B. As they were busy, they arranged for me to stay at the Belforte for my last night in greater Manchester.

It is a small family run hotel, but is big on the welcome and hospitality. The room was comfortable and the shower really packed a punch. Good sized flat panel tv with free view channels on the wall and everything you would expect including complimentary tea and coffee and shampoo/shower gel.

I had dinner in the hotel and some drinks at their small bar. Both were excellent - the food, service, choice (i had the special) and prices were good and I was really pleasantly surprised. The breakfast was good and hot with plenty of choice - hot, cold, juice, toast and preserves etc etc.. Overall couldn't have been happier and good value for money for the room + ample free parking at the rear.

Wifi (free) signal was good downstairs, but a bit strained upstairs, so the connection could have been better, but it worked.

The welcome by the owner couldn't have been bettered. Room was spotlessly clean as was the bathroom with the fluffy white towels giving the impression of being in a much higher grade of hotel, along with the complimentary shower gel/shampoo/body lotion.
We were in town for a gig at the Arts Centre so the location was really convenient for us as it was just a short walk into town.
Plenty of choice for breakfast with service being friendly & efficient. Some hotel chains could actually learn some lessons here!
Secure parking to the rear & they allowed us to leave our car there even when we'd checked out as we were meeting friends for lunch.
Would definitely recommend.

We booked Belforte House for our Mum, who has poor mobility and uses a mobility scooter. It was the week before Christmas and she wanted to stay somewhere she could have easy access to shops before coming to stay with us further out of Sale. We were a little apprehensive but we certainly needn't have worried. The staff looked after her, made her feel very welcome and even when she didn't feel well they cared for her in a way that was above and beyond!

The hotel is spotlessly clean, rooms are spacious with en suite, tv and nice fittings. There is a sitting room and large dining room. The hotel has a spacious feel to it. Mum said the home made food was delicious and they made her whatever she fancied when she wasn't feeling too good.

It is close to Sale town centre, the leisure centre with swimming pool, gym etc is opposite and plenty of shops, pubs and restaurants within easy walking distance. The tram station to Manchester City Centre is 100 yards away and Manchester United football ground is 2 miles away!

Would thoroughly recommend to anyone wanting a friendly, caring, family run hotel in Sale.
Thank you for taking such good care of our Mum! She will be back this year!

Room Tip: There are spacious rooms on the ground floor for those with poor mobility.

We stayed at the Belforte House Hotel for B&B on a Saturday night, after depositing No2 Offspring at University. The hotel is actually larger than it appears in the photographs, comprising two similar buildings connected by the shared restaurant. There is a car park at the rear of the right-hand building. Reception is in the left-hand building.

Our initial impressions were good, our welcome at checking was warm, friendly and efficient.

Our room was very good, well appointed, decorated and prepared. Free internet wifi was available, and the signal in our room was fine. Our double room in fact had a double and a single bed, but there was plenty of space.

The en suite shower room was well appointed. The effective shower was turned on/off via a simple valve (in fact it was a radiator valve). On enquiry we learned that all the showers in the hotel are the same; the have elected for a centrally heated/regulated hot water supply, as a way of avoiding the temperature fluctuations that other premises often suffer from. It means there so there is no temperature control in the shower unit itself. Although the radiator valve perhaps looked a tad temporary and a little out of keeping with the standard of the rest of the accommodation (we have fed this back to the hotel), the system worked well and we found the temperature to be spot on. This is a minor quibble, and in no way detracted from our stay.

We were given our own front door key, so we could come and go as we pleased. The dining room was not open at the weekend, so we ate in Sale (Sokrates Greek Bistro). The hotel is within a very short walk of the canal, shops, restaurants and other facilities in Sale.

The hotel was busy that weekend, with both an MUFC home game and families transporting new students, but the atmosphere in the hotel was tranquil.

Breakfast next morning, full English or continental, was included in the room price, and was well cooked. The restaurant service was quick, friendly and informal, watched from outside by what I assumed to be the owners dog, who took up what looked like a well-practised position on a set of stairs outside the restaurant picture window to quietly gaze in.

At £55 for a double room including breakfast, much better value and quality than a standard Travelodge or Premier Inn, I can heartily recommend the Belforte House Hotel. We would happily come again.
