We stayed in a 2 bedroom condo unit with our friends over the Labour Day long weekend.

Overall our stay was pleasant despite the weather. The village had lots to offer, and hiking trails close by were great. Our unit was equipped with 2 baths, 2 balconies, kitchen, dining and living area, 1 bedroom with King, 1 bedroom with Queen and sofa bed. Pool was heated, clean and not too busy. The pool lougers and umbrella covered tables were great. We had underground parking for both vehicles which was also very convenient. Golfing was avialable close by (besides Monterra Golf) at a reasonable price and the course as quite nice.

Few issues we had:
1) TV is blocked (locked cable lines) so were unable to hook up a PS3 despite numerous attempts, cables, assistance from front desk. When it is raining outside, it is nice to have some alternatives and we were not pleased that they had blocked it out.

2) When you open the balcony doors, the wind causes all the doors in the unit to either slam shut or rattle loudly

3) Hallway noise was high even though we were at the end of the hall. Doors slam in the hall from others and it also causes your door to rattle.

4) We had wanted to participate in the treetop walking but that was booked 1 week in advance. The Scandanave spa closeby was also fully booked.. guess next time we have to plan a little better.

We stayed at Mosaic for 3 nights in August 2010. We had a good trip inspite of the service. On night one, we informed the front desk that the pool water was green and had an infestation of bugs. She informed me these things happen, it's an outdoor pool. Well, the next day, the pool was shut for 24 hours. The reason we went to Mosaic was for the kids to swim. We paid extra for a poolside room. Front desk told us it was no big deal, that the pool was only down for 24 hours and that they needed to clean it for their guest on the long wind. So, at this stage, we were clearly unwanted second rate guests. An offer of 10% off of one night's stay and complimentary late check out was weak. Finally, the Mosaic workers smoking in a family section right beside my kids was enough. We will never stay at Mosaic again and would highly recommend avoiding this hotel.

We booked 2 days at the Mosaic after a lot of internet searches (in particular using Trip Advisor) for the Collingwood/Wasaga Beach area. After a horribel experience at another establishment located in Parry Sound, we added an extra night on very short notice. We had booked a one-bedroom condo with a King-sized bed "preference" (they do not guarantee bed choices - my only real complaint about the place). The cost was approximately $250 first night with a gradual decline in price for each additional night = total for 3 nights was aproximately $680.00 (tax in). The prices can fluctuate here due to the private ownership of the condos; however, once booked the price is the price. You could likely get a better deal if you do not book on short notice.

We arrived around 6p.m. or so frazzled from the bad experience we had earlier that day. The young lady at the front desk, "Heather", was an absolute pleasure to deal with - bright, articulate, efficient and understanding of our needs. We relayed our earlier experience to her. Lucky for us, a King-size bed was available in 2 of the remaining condo suites. Once checked in, we went to our assigned room. However, we left right away as it was located right beside the elevator and you could hear it moving up and down and dinging. Heather changed our room right away with no questions asked. Our final destination was a lovely little one bedroom condo. It was clean (except for the stray hair in the tub) and comfortable. The view was of the parking lot outside and the tennis dome; however, if you looked beyond that there was a panoramic view of the lake. The room had all of the amenities described to us and had pretty good soundproofing. Be forewarned that you can not turn off the air conditionning!

Shortly after our arrival at our final destination, a bottle of shiraz with some local chocolates were sent up to our room with a note saying "Have a relaxing vacation". We knew right away that this had come from Heather! Now, this might be standard for this hotel; however, it was a delightful surprise!

Mosaic is located in The Village (part of the Blue Mountain Resort), so there is a lot of nearby shopping, restaurants and little things to entertain adults and children alike. Our hotel was very family friendly, so if you mind hearing kids running up and down the halls, then this place is not for you! The underground parking is apparently free in the summertime - a nice bonus! The restaurant attached to the Mosaic serves an excellent and hearty breakfast!

The outdoor pool was a decent size and was a nice temperature. The outdoor hot tub was a nice temperature as well; however, it could really use a proper cleaning! We never made it to the beach (which is included in the price of the stay), so I can not comment on that.

In short, although a little on the pricey side (especially since you can not get room service) we had a very pleasant 3 night stay at the Mosaic and would return again. It was very convenient for us as we did the Outdoor Adventure at the Scenic Caves (a 5 minute drive OR you can hike or take the gondola up the mountain at the Resort).Heather - you were an absolute pleasure to deal with - all the best in your future endeavours!

After all 6 or us waited more than an hour past the "guaranteed check-in time" to get our suite, we liked our 3 bedroom suite -- it was well appointed including well-stocked kitchen dishes etc, towels and nice bed linens.

The lack of care for customer service certainly had our trip off to a bad start. No apologies -- just an excuse that "three bedroom suites are bigger and take longer to clean". Luggage carts were hard to find and ours had a flat tire. Some issues with the suite -- lights that did not work; air conditioning that was dodgy (too hot or too cold most times). Fresh towels and cleaning of the suite did not happen without a call to the less than accomodating staff.

The village was very nice -- good shopping, including a little grocery store. Fun activities for the kids. Good restaurants. Gondola ride was fun!

Have stayed at the Westin Trillium House on a previous visit to Blue Mountain -- would stay at the Westin next time as the quality and service was much better.

We enjoyed our stay at Mosaic at Blue Mountain. The service was fine, but a little spotty. We only received newspapers outside our door on the first and last day of our 5 day stay. The first day my husband asked and received confirmation that housekeeping services the room daily. Nonetheless, one day we had to check twice to see if someone would come in to make beds and replenish toiletries. A second day, we noticed that housekeeping had folded a new bath mat over the tub, but otherwise, nothing had been touched. When we asked the front desk about housekeeping coming in to provide coffee and take care of the beds, they were very short and we seemed to be inconveniencing them.

We had a two bedroom suite overlooking the pool. The room was nice. Not lavish - some of the furniture was scratched/nicked. Not all of the chairs would push in around the table - maybe it was a mismatched set. The beds were comfortable, the bathrobes were nice.

The pool must have had a chemical problem and had to be drained. It ended up being closed 24 hours - kind of a shame on vacation with kids. And the staff really wasn't very forthcoming with information about it.

The village is fantastic and the Activity Office staff is very friendly. 3 Guys and a Stove is a FABULOUS restaurant. Wonderful adult and kids meals. I wish we had one close to where we live. The village concept is great with kids where you can stroll and look at menus - no in and out of the car.

The price of shuffleboard seemed outrageous - $15 for 30 minutes - we stuck with the free chess and checkers. The scavenger hunt for the kids (from the Activity Office) was cute. The hikes to the top of the mountain were super and scenic and we enjoyed the gondola ride down the mountain. This was a highlight.

The beach was fine. There is no real depth to the water - you can walk quite a distance and still not get waist deep. The snack bar stand offers well-priced ice cream and popsicles. They also have boogie boards, skim boards, bocce, horseshoes and sand toys you could borrow.

Overall, it was a good relaxing stay at Mosaic.

We stayed at the Blue Mountain Village this past long weekend (July 30-August 2, 2010). Our party had 6 adults, 2 kids, 1 infant. We had the three bedroom, three bathroom suite in Mosaic-- room # 260. Apparently, this is their only three bedroom suite. It is located at the very end of the second floor. The balcony overlooks the end of the pond/volleyball court and the windows have views of the pool/courtyard.

We really have no complaints about our accomodations. The apartment was very clean, stylish, spacious and accomodated us all very well. The master bedroom had a king bed and enough floor space (if you shifted things a bit) to accomdate a full air mattress. It also had its own television, en suite bathroom, and thermostat. We felt the bed was quite hard, but this is a personal preference--there was certainly nothing wrong with the bed. The second bedroom had a queen bed and a bathroom directly across the hall. (there would not be enough space in this room to hold a playpen or air mattress). The third bedroom had a queen bed and enough space to hold a playpen. It also had an en suite bathroom. This bedroom was set off of the livingroom on an angle and was very well insulated for sound as three of the walls were exterior. The infant sleeping within was not disturbed by the family's chatter in the livingroom, and since the two other bedrooms were far enough away at the other end of the suite, the family was not disturbed by any night or early morning noise from the infant!

There was also a pull-out sleeper sofa and tons of floor space in the livingroom, so this suite could potentially hold more guests comfortably.

We found the suite overall to be well sound-proofed, which is very important to me when staying in a hotel. We never heard any noise from neighbours or hallways (being at the end helped there). When the windows were open you could certainly hear the volleyball commentator clearly (there were professional matches held this weekend) and in the evenings you could hear the nightclub music but as soon as you closed the windows the sound was gone.

We stayed for three nights and four days. Room service came each day to offer new towels and take away the garbage. Above 4 days they come in to clean. The hotel was also very accomodating with our check-out time, allowing us to let the youngest ones have their afternoon nap before departing.

The hotel has it's own outdoor pool and hottub. The weather cooled down this weekend (18-21 degrees) so we found it a bit too cool to enjoy the pool. However, it was a nice pool.

A few tips: you may want to bring your own dishcloth and paper towel as there were only dish towels provided. The kitchen was overall, well-equipped though, as were the bathrooms with lots of towels, toiletries, as well as two robes in the master bedroom.

It was great to be withing steps of shops, activities, dining and special events. The whole village had a great, fun casual vibe to it and we look forward to going back again!

Thanks to the Mosaic section of Intra west we had a great time in the middle of a heat wave. If you want a view and a quieter location choose a higher floor facing the mountain. We found that our room facing the pool was better than rooms facing the village which would have meant lisitening to music and people day and night. Depends what you are after. The unit itself was convenient and spacious with a nifty kitchenette. There is plenty to do here in the summer months like swimming, mountain biking, hiking and biking along the Georgian trail, tennis, golf, etc. . This is truly a family resort so if you don't want to hear the sounds of kids don't come here!
We enjoyed the tasteful layout of the hotel grounds where one could stroll , sit on numerous muskoka chairs or shop in the boutiques. We especially recommend the Thalos restaurant in this resort as the food is excellant as is the service.

Our only compalint was that we couldn't turn off the air conditioner. We just wanted to breathe in the clean mountain air so we opened up our windows and the air conditioner kept coming on! The heating and air conditioning systems do not turn off and we think that is extremly wasteful and inconvenient for guests who want to control their own room temperatures. It must be costing the hotel a fortune to run their operation this way - we just don't get it!
