“Reception is extremely rude!”
Reviewed January 15, 2009

The resorts there are pretty nice and and i absolutely loved the ping pong table, the outdoor jacouzzi was useless because it was nice at first but our faces froze and i really mean FROZE! couldnt stay in there for more than 10 minutes. i liked the place BUT the receptionist's were very rude. they treat you like you're dumb and they have too much attitude. they are not nice nor do they try to help you with anything. it really ruined the trip because they were extremely rude!

  • Liked — the resort was nice had an open concept

six women friends have been getting together for our annual girls weekend away for the past fifteen years or more.
about 5 or six years ago we were fortunate enough to find the tyrolean village resort as our destination point. we have stayed in a number of the tyrolean's executive chalets available and have always been pleased with the results. it is not only the best off-season deal that we have yet to find, the location is ideal for hikes, road trips, proximity to spa locations, local gift shops, pre-christmas shopping shared accomondations, meals and 'wild women' celebrations.
the distance from the gta is an easy drive. the chalets themselves are great -- clean and comfortable and so well equipped that our weekends together require minimal packing to accomondate all for our cooking and recreational needs.
we have had a great time each year and are always looking forward to returning.

We are from South Africa and arrived in Canada on 23 January 08. This past December family from our home country came to visit for the festive season. We decided to take a break from the city, go to the country and learn to ski.
We booked at Tyrolean Village because they're pet friendly.
We've stayed in chalet #61, and the view of Blue Mountain was fantastic. Being from a country were we never see snow, my relatives really enjoyed the time. The next morning after our arrival we we're building snowmans and making snow angels.
After a day of ski training is was really nice to go back to the cottage and relax in the jacuzzi.
On the day of our departure there was a snowstorm, and we didn't want to take the risk to drive back to Toronto. Trish from Tyrolean we're able to book us in a bigger chalet for an extra day without paying more for the bigger chalet.
Our dogs also enjoyed the stay, and the golden retriever loved to be able to play around in the snow for one more day.
We really enjoyed our stay, and think you get good value for your money. We will visit again in summer time!

My friends and I stayed at a chalet within Tyrolean village and had an amazing time. We enojyed snowboarding during the day and then took advantage of the sauna when we returned. We played ping pong and just enjoyed eachothers company. Overall, we all had a great time. Thanks Tyrolean!

We had a great time at the Tyrolean Village. Located right across Blue Mountain, the view was great ! Well maintained and the staff was very helpfull. The outdoor hot tub was just what we needed after a day on the slopes. The only issue was that a few people complained that their rooms were cold. But the staff was very helpfull and did give us a portable heater which helped. I sugest, if you are goin up with a large group, ask the individuals to bring along a small portable heater for their own use. Overall, we had a great time and i recomend it to all...

I booked this chalet for six ladies to get away from it all for a weekend. For the most part we were pleased with the location that we booked it had a definite 70's flair. However we were disappointed upon arrival to see that there were only five bedrooms when it advertised the chalet as a six bed room (the only reason we choose this particular chalet). Luckily two ladies didn't have a problem sharing. Also you have to call for maintenance to come and turn up the heat if you would like it warmer that 65..... bit chilly for me! We had intended to go out for dinner each evening so the limited "working" kitchen wasn't an issue for us, but again, it was advertised with such amenities, which I could see people being disappointed if they were intending to dine in. The general consensus of our group, was it met our needs of a place to sit, catch up over a few glasses of wine and a complete nights sleep! The short distance to the "village" was also a great draw for shopping and dinning. I would book again with Tyrolean, however not the same chalet, we were in the Castle and I will definitely be reviewing what exactly is "included"

For Pet Friendly in Collingwood - Tyrolean is great. Had no problems bringing our two dogs and we did not worry about the dogs in the chalet because...well...quite frankly - there is nothing to ruin....the carpets are indoor/outdoor - metal furniture, vinyl flooring.....I guess you call is rustic. It was definitely adequate although it would have been better to not have the place smell so "funky". Judging by the age of the cottage - there would have been a long history of parties and people contributing to the funk smell. Some Febreeze or at least cleaning the carpets more often in the main great room would have been appreciated.

If you are looking for extreme luxury - well this would not be the place. But the huge wood burning fireplace was a nice change to no fireplace or a gas fireplace...hard to beat a wood fire. I would consider their large chalets for a family get together or reunion - lots of room, ping pong table in the basement, huge table to eat at and two bathrooms with separate shower/tubs.

I would go back because we can bring the dogs, the price is right and the chalet was more than adequate.
