I stayed in the Grand Georgian for a conference at Blue Mountain. The Grand Georgian is ideally located in the middle of the village, so it was quick and easy to walk everywhere. The studio room was really large and I had a great view of the main stage area. There was lots of seating in the room and the mini fridge really came in handy. It was advertised on the website that there was a DVD player in the room. However, I ended up having to borrow a portable DVD player from reception, because they had taken all of the DVD players out of the rooms a couple months ago. You may want to bring your own DVD player as they only have a limited number available.
The part of the hotel I was really disappointed in was the pool. It wasn't very clean and it was very shallow. I often scraped my knees and feet while trying to do laps in the pool. There were often no towels available later on in the evening.

Dear angelvoice836

Wow, another terrific and detailed portrayal of our lovely resort and lodging facilities, thank you so much. Oh dear, yes the DVD players were all removed from the rooms due to unreliability and subsequent disappointments, we will be sure to scour our advertising and remove this feature. We apologize for your dissatisfaction with the pool in this location, this is not the quality of experience we intend and will review current practices in an effort to improve.

From minute one I knew this was going to be a shambles. We arrived on Tuesday at around noon, looking forward to starting a mini holiday with family from the USA. Got in one main elevator with 2 kids and got stuck fir st least 5 minutes in it. The door wouldn't open and the lift wouldn't move. That elevator remained out of order until today, Friday, when we left! Finally checked in and was not happy with the room. 1 ply toilet paper? Really? The kitchens were not fully equipped with what we needed, the toilets in the 2 bath 3 bedroom condo would not flush properly, if at all at times. The time I spent giggling the toilet handle, opening the tank trying to fix the damn thing, I'll never get back. The exhaust system was noisy and the fan in the bathroom would clunk and whir constantly. Great when you would live to get some sleep. The pool area was filthy, with used band aids and debris everywhere. Gross. The hot tubs were green and cloudy. Such a huge disappointment. Unreal. I'll never stay there again. Had better experiences at weider lodge, mosaic and the westin trillium. Shame on management for letting this property slide

Dear Renootz1,

Thank you for this feedback, as you can see from many other postings to this website, we generally receive very positive comments; as such we are disappointed to hear you did not enjoy your stay. Occasionally we do experience mechanical failures with equipment, in this instance the elevator; this is often the result of holding the doors open for extended periods of time causing the mechanism to require a reset. We have posted signs indicating that this practice can cause service interruptions but we still see it occurring routinely. The kitchens are often heralded for their provisions and apologize for any shortfalls you encountered; we will use this comment as a reminder for our cleaning staff and routine inventory checks. We have maintenance staff on hand at all times to address deficiencies when reported and as such hope the issue with your toilet and exhaust fan was reported and addressed in a timely manner. The pools and hot tubs are maintained under strict guidelines and monitored by our local health inspector; the chemical readings are done on a routine basis and have not been reported at unsafe levels. During peak usage, the water can appear cloudy, typically a result of guests entering the water wearing sunscreen, the appearance is not indicative of the water quality. Once again, thank you for your very valuable comments.

Yours truly,
On behalf of Blue Mountain Resorts Limited

We stayed at the Grand Georgian over the weekend July 26-28 for the Collingwood Elvisfest. We stayed in a 2 bedroom unit which was wonderful. The units are huge and are fully equipped with everything that you need and it is so handy to be able to cook breakfast etc. The bedrooms are large and the beds very comfortable and both bedrooms have ensuite bathrooms, one with a huge walk in shower. Our room overlooked the parking lot so the view was not great but someone has to have a bad view. We stayed here last year and had a better room location. I would highly recommend this hotel if you are looking for the comforts of home and want to be in the centre of things where the shopping and activities are. Parking was difficult but this was an extremely busy weekend when a lot of people are in the area so it is understandable. Both the underground parking and the outside lot were full most of the time but you just have to be patient at busy times.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the Village if possible.

Dear 27cadetmom,

The Elvisfest is fantastic; it brings such a great energy to the Village as well as many of the surrounding towns, we see guests travel from far and wide to attend. The rooms are super spacious, nice when you have a few in your party, you aren’t cramped at all. It’s so convenient to be able to throw a quick meal together, particularly if you are rushing to join an activity or see a show. Yes, occasionally parking can be crowded when we hold events such as this, there is more parking at the south end of the resort and our shuttle service is available to bring you back up to the Village, but it’s very walkable too. The shuttle runs on a schedule on weekends and midweek is on demand.

Great experience, great room - unfortunately our balcony was full of wasps so we couldn't use it. Biggest disappointment was that at check out we tried to book the same room for 4 nights in the near future and were told we couldn't do it on site but had to go home to do it!!! I think at check out if you have a family wanting to rebook you should be able to do so and not be told to do it from your computer or to phone in! Other than that it was great.
But on a sales side - if they had aloud us to rebook while we were there we would already have made our reservations.....not doing so has made us look into other getaway options.

Dear Kateyez,

Thanks for this post on Trip Advisor, your comments are well taken. First of all, we are, as always, thrilled to hear you had a good time and your suite met your expectations and needs perfectly. Those pesky wasps, they just keep trying to settle in and their choice of locations is not conducive to our guest enjoyment, no doubt about it. We are sorry to hear they compromised your enjoyment of the balcony, we generally remove them in the evening once we have a report of a nest. On occasion we have to gain access to an adjoining unit depending on the location they have built in and that can be delayed if we need another guest permission to do so.

You will be glad to know that we are in the process of implementing a new system, whereby our desk staff will soon be capable of making new reservations for guests on the spot. We are sorry they could not accommodate your request on this occasion but want to assure you that this option will soon be available.

This is my 3rd stay in Collingwood, but my first at the Grand Georgian. I was very pleased with the room's cleanliness, look, feel and rate. The location has very good access to the Village's shopping and attractions. It was a very busy week-end and we had no noise complaints at all! If you book, take advantage of their Adventure pkg. deal-it's worth it. A terrific family, summer get-a-way. Would recommend.

Room Tip: Stayed in room 376-bachelor.

We took advantage of the Spring Getaway package through Le Scandinave Spa. We didn't have much choice of which hotel we ended up at, except that we were promised it would be in the Village. I'm so glad we ended up at the Grand Georgian. It's in a prime location in the village, easy parking and the hotel suite was spacious and well kept. The hot tub and pool at the hotel are also a great way to end a busy day of hiking or skiing.

Dear Terezinha Waterloo,

We are also glad you ended up at the Grand Georgian and enjoyed the entire experience. The rooms are great and yes, the Village is the ultimate bonus, right outside your door. Everything is so self-contained; it would be hard to say you were lacking for something to do, between retail therapy, dining and activities; you could be on the go all day and night! The other hotels are just as lovely, with the Seasons at Blue just coming back on line after a total refurbishment; each hotel offers its own unique atmosphere.

Stayed here when our son was taking part in a soccer tournament locally with many other families from the team.
The room was clean and well laid out with a fire and a balcony that overlooked the slopes and the swimming pool area.
You have to accept that it can be a little noisy at night but that shouldn't deter you from staying here. Great village feel to the complex. It felt safe for the kids and there was plenty to occupy them whether it be a trip to buy a beavertail or racing down the hill on the Ridge Runner mountain rollercoaster.
Pool area was clean and safe and great for the kids to hang around. Reception staff very kindly gave us access to the facilities even after we'd checked-out. We were in no rush to leave. Will definitely visit again.

Dear Tullsmeister,

What a great reason to get away, we hope your son and his team had a good game and from the sound of it he thoroughly enjoyed the down time when not competing. The Village has evolved into a wonderful vacation destination and not all that far from many big city centers. We’re glad to know you will be returning and trust your comments will inspire others to take the plunge and visit Blue very soon.
