“Mmmm...hard to review when they don't serve food!!”
Reviewed April 27, 2013

The start of our evening was actually okay. We were told we would have to wait about 15-20 minutes. So we went to the bar. After about 30 minutes we were told our table was ready. While it wasn't the best table as it was beside an exit door, we didn't ask to be moved as it seemed pretty busy. We ordered pretty seamlessly then the wait began. We waited. We waited. We waited. My wife noticed our entire section had no food. After close to an hour we asked the waitress how long our food would be. She said it would be at least another 25 minutes!!! So to wait 2 hours for a meal was unacceptable so we left. We could have drove to Niagara Falls and ate in the same amount of time. The good news is that we didn't have our kids or I would have been really angry. We have been to thousands of restaurants and have never encountered this. So how was the food?? I don't know. Stay clear of this place if you want to eat!!

“Fabulous Food, Terrific Service!”
Reviewed April 20, 2013

Booked a room at Blue because I was speaking at a conference the following morning. Where to go for dinner? She felt like Italian, so it was an easy choice ... Magnone's Italian Kitchen. Weather was cold and rainy - it was great we were in the village, in fact in the same building as this resto.

Bottle of red, of course.

I started with Beef Carpaccio which was some of the best I've ever had. She went for the Calamari. We cross-tasted and were both 'wowed'.

Our server, Ally, described the evening feature ... a FABULOUS-sounding lobster pasta. The apps were big, so we asked to share. "No problem!".

Good thing we did. This main was also very generous! And talk about tasty. In addition to chunks of lobster, had some pancetta in it, and the spaghetti was tossed in an egg sauce - a sauce just like one we occasionally make at home!

WOW!

Oh, then there was the dessert, also shared "No Problem". Another feature du jour ... and it was wonderful.

The only, only minor negative was when we shared the main, they brought the big pasta bowl and left us to divvy it up onto our side plates ... would have been nice to have the kitchen separate it into heated bowls. But NO BIGGIE!

If you're at Blue, looking for dinner, start here.

“Excellent”
Reviewed April 15, 2013

I would highly recommend Magnone's Italian Kitchen to anyone travelling to Blue Mountain.. The food was excellent.. All the pizza is made on thin crust flatbread which makes the toppings very flavourful. The waitstaff also provided excellent service. This is also a great place for families with young children.

“Nice enough, friendly”
Reviewed April 9, 2013

We visited during the week, not too busy. Staff took great care of us, gave recommendations, very friendly. Food is very good (carpaccio, calamari, nice seafood pasta). Like any restaurant at BM, it can be different when it is busy (versus quiet time when we visited).

“Pleasantly surprised”
Reviewed April 3, 2013

I was pleasantly surprised with our dinner & service here. I don't have high expectations of Blue Mountain Village restaurants; it's typically over-priced, mediocre food & service. This place is better than the rest, that's for sure!

We really enjoyed our delicious meal: marinated olives, beef carpaccio, quinoa & beet salad, and a flat bread/pizza. The wine list was small, but satisfying (they offer Barbera, which is hard to find & I love it)!

Our server was very good; attentive, not over-bearing, and pleasant.

I would definitely return here for a dinner when we're in Blue Mountains again!
