We had heard many comments about the beauty of Costa Rica and the friendliness of the people in this peaceful country. While we wanted to see this beautiful country, we did not want to spend time in a city as we rather tour the countryside and enjoy the beaches.
Ojochal meets those requirements and the privileged location of La Bella Rosa caught our attention. It is a different type of Bed & Breakfast, the rooms are apart from the main house, you have your own private suite an you enjoy breakfast by the beautiful pool under a covered terrace. The facilities are modern, in excellent condition, clean and functional. You might not expect good wi-fi, Internet and cable in such a location, but at la Bella Rosa, they have it all. Ubiquitous, reliable and fast wi-fi in your suite, the pool and anywhere around the beautiful grounds. Cable TV with all the channels, in your own large flat screen TV, of local stations, the US and Europe -- with news, sports and even Latin telenovelas.
Breakfast is excellent, the rooms are kept clean with fresh towels, bed sheets and stocked with personal hygiene necessities. Erezelda, the cook and housekeeper does a great job and the owners, Debbie and Tom, are ever attentive to your needs, whether it is directions to local restaurants, transportation arrangements or even the best times to go to the beach. The souvenir shop is nicely stocked and you can even get a bottle of wine from a nice selection. Nearby restaurants are good, you can find local, Italian and continental cuisine in just a few minutes drive.
All touring activities are within a reasonable drive, whether you want to go to the beach, tour the mangroves, have a catamaran adventure or even go zip lining.
The views are spectacular, the breezes at the height of La Bella Rosa are delightful. an evening by the pool after a day of leisure activities is de-stressing and relaxing. The only difficult thing was to leave it all behind.
