Owner description: We are Scotland's largest birds of prey centre. There are over 70 birds to see and fantastic flying displays every day. Our birds include eagles, falcons, owls, hawks, vultures and parrots. We are open from 10am till 5pm and the displays are at 12 noon and 3pm daily. The centre is open 7 days a week all year round. We do experiences where you can handle and fly the birds (booking required). Come and sample our home cooking at The Cabin Cafe.

This is a lovely place more so if you have children the birds are lovely to see and once you have been round to see them go into the café for a lovely coffee or tea with a nice bacon roll given to you by the lovely staff who are very helpful.

My partner and I spent a slightly windy Sunday afternoon at the World of Wings. All the birds looks well looked after and the staff were friendly and extremely knowledgeable about the birds.

The bird display was very well delivered and showed four different types of birds and the behaviour of them. One of the birds had decided that he didn’t really want to fly, the handlers dealt with this very well and it showed that the birds have a choice in participating or not. During the summer they do two displays a day and use different birds at each one.

The aviaries were well layed out to enable you to see the some of the birds without mesh in front of them. This meant that we managed to get some stunning photos of the owls and eagles. The stork which is next to the flying field was very amusing and seems to keep an eye on everything that’s going on.

We had booked the taster bird of prey experience and this included handling an eagle indoors (as it was a bit windy and raining at this point) then flying one of the falcons in the field. As you would expect in December in Scotland, it can be cold, rainy and windy and the field that they use for flying can get muddy. If your dressed for the weather and don’t mind getting your shoes slightly muddy then it was great fun holding bits of meat for the falcon and it landing on your arm. Some of the others in the group weren’t dressed for the weather and as such left before the experience ended but this was more them being unprepared than any fault of the venue.

The onsite café was very efficient and served good hot chocolate and coffee to warm us up afterwards. They have a fairly basic menu but it all seemed to be served quickly and looked good.

Guide is great at letting you handle the birds safely (for both you and the birds!). Very knowledgable and passionate about the birds, falconry and conservation. The facility is great and let's you see a wide range of birds, and the flying display gets you really close to the birds in flight. Highly recommended

Visited World of Wings with my husband & 17 year old daughter after we saw some of the birds on display in Falkirk at the Howgate centre. It doesn't look much when you arrive but don't let it put you off. We were advised to go straight down to the flying field when we arrived, we caught the second half of the display, a falcon & a kestrel. Lovely things they are too :) The handlers are extremely knowledgeable & really do love the birds, it's very obvious. After the display we spent an hour looking at all the other birds of prey on display. A snowy owl was being fed so were able to coo over her whilst chatting to the handler. Hilarious antics from the macaws - very cute & funny. All the birds are just gorgeous & we loved the whole thing. Grabbed a yummy hot chocolate & traybake in the cafe, lovely way to finish off our afternoon! Go visit this super-friendly little attraction & hang out with our beautiful feathered friends!

I gave my friend a taster session for her birthday at World of Wings. We're still talking about it.Stewart who guided us through the session was a font of knowledge on birds of prey,he really loves his subject and it's infectious.I'll never look at a buzzard in a negative way again. To be so close and handling these magnificent birds was a real treat. And talking about treats,go to the Cabin Cafe. The food is delicious !
