My wife and I recently spent a few days in the Cotswolds, enjoying the beautiful villages and quaint restaurants. Our favorite restaurant during our stay was The Hare & Hounds. We were the only diners on this chilly Thursday evening and were totally impressed with every part of our dinner. The food was fresh, cooked perfectly and very tasty. The chef came to our table and we discussed all the food that we ordered. He then gave us a suggestion for dessert and it topped off the dinner perfectly. That restaurant/pub is a must-do when in the area.

Three locals came for a working lunch and found a good welcome, a great table by the blazing fire and smartly served drinks on a freezing cold day. We found a warm and friendly country pub with a good menu. I chose Partridge with Raspberry Sauce which was excellent and the others who were starving chose Beefburgers which they found disapppointing and rather hard going, lacking in onion, served with an enormous portion of chips. It was a shame we had to wait so long for food but the restaurant was busy and the guys running their socks off. I will certainly return.

Very disappointed with the room very basic and an extremely uncomfortable bed. This is the only time I have ever contemplated booking out of a hotel. However the owner rectified the problem the second night and transferred us to a larger room, comfortable bed - a much better experience.
The breakfast was excellent. Perhaps the owners are just tired!

Very hospitable owners, most attentive indeed, nice spot with plenty to see and do in the local area, excellent food, Gloucester Old Spot Sausages to die for, room very cosy, if I was to be picky, I could say the television was in need of updating, but you don't go away on a romantic weekend to watch Match of the Day do you ?!? Would recommend certainly.

Several of us stayed here for the night, as we were attending our friend's wedding in nearby Cripps Barn. We were given a friendly welcome and shown to our rooms. All 7 of us were very disappointed with the standard of our rooms. The beds were very uncomfortable, each one of us commented on this first thing in the morning. The bathrooms were tired, no mixer taps, cracked bath panels. Tea and coffe facilities were provided but only enough milk for 1 cup each etc. Not what I would expect for £110 a night.

On a more positive note, the pub was lovely and the food, including breakfast was very tasty.. Sadly, when one of our party tried to get her breakfast at 7:30 ( breakfast was meant to be served from 7:30 onwards) as she had to leave early, she was left waiting til 8:20, whilst the grill was heated up and coffee was put on. Again not up to stAndard given the prices charged.

I would recommend this place for lunch, but suggest staying in some of the other more reasonably priced b&bs in the area. We had decided to stay here expecting it to be a bit of a treat. However, we left disappointed and with sore backs.
