I'm so glad I chose this camp: the introduce to Surfing could not have been better! The amazing nature and nice atmosphere at the camp added to a wonderful stay (not to mention the dinners cooked by helen;)).
Thanks again for everything, I hope to come back again!

Best (surf) location in middle of nature.
No explanation...just go and book your holiday!
5 min walk to eucalyptus forest and orange trees.
Don't forget to book your own car so you can visit the great area

I decided to go and catch some waves in the Algarve and stayed with Atlantic riders because it was in the national park. It was exactly what I was looking for - a peaceful ranch in the middle of nowhere, close to the western beaches and not too far from Faro. Rene and Helen are fabulous hosts - they really make you feel like part of the family and Helen's cooking is superb. It's a lovely place to wake up and a great place to chill as the sun goes down after a hard day in the waves. I will definitely be returning.

Friends and I decided to go to Atlantic Riders Surf Camp for Easter Holidays. I had so much fun this week. What I most liked was that it is in a national park, far away from the city lights and surrounded by nature. The food was amazingly delicious! The environment is very relaxed and with good vibes. Sadly we had no luck with the weather. I can not wait to go again!

We decided to have a small reunion in the national park where atlantic riders is located. Most of us were new to surfing so it was a perfect moment to learn together. The nature around the camp is beautiful and the trips that Rene took us on in his van on the way to the various beaches showed even more incredible mountains and nature of southern Portugal.

The food's delicious (thanks Helen!) and Rene and Josh are great teachers. A lot of knowledge about surfing, water and conditions, patience to correct and show us the right techniques and above all, they really enjoy their work and take effort in making sure we're having a great time!

Pity that the weather wasn't the best but from what I saw, I'll definitely be back to enjoy the full potential of atlantic riders surf camp!

Keep in mind though that it is a natural setting, the camp is set in the national park and therefore you'll definitely encounter the typical differences in lifestyle in the countryside!

What to do with four teenagers for a week? Answer: Learn to surf with these guys

Surfing was amazing, we were all beginners but all had a great time. Rene and Helen offer simple, honest hospitality with great food and a relaxed atmosphere. After only one week, it felt like we'd been friends for years. One of our best holidays.

If you're looking for a relaxed atmosphere, away from - but not too far away from- the hustle and craziness that is Lagos then this is the place for you.
I stayed in the camp cabins and whilst modest, offer a place to crash, shower and chill after a hard, but fun day at the beach.
Rene & Helen and with a little help from Josh run the camp, and they are amazing hosts. What Rene & josh don't know about surfing isn't worth knowing! & Helen's food is so damn good you'll be well fed, did I mention pudding?! No? Well that's fantastic too.
First time was in may and it was a scorcher! Second time was October, which ment the sea (south coast) was warm enough for just boardies :)
There's a "games" room too with a pool table and play station etc! To kickback and chat to new found friends. There's a really nice vibe and most of the people you'll keep in touch with.
Hopefully I'll go back in the near future!

You won't regret staying at Atlantic riders!

Sorry it took so long to post....Matt
