“Beautiful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 15, 2013 via mobile

One of the best beaches in this part of Portugal. The beach is so beautiful and stretches up the river. There's plenty of room for everyone and is worth the bumpy road to get there. Words fail

“Beautiful Beach”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 3, 2013

I visited in the winter but I have family that go in the summer and they say it is great. You need to go from the Aljezur side and not from Monte Clerigo otherwise you will have to cross a river to get onto the beach

“Lots of walking or lazing”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 3, 2012

First class beach restaurant with freshly caught fish and a terrace looking at the spectacular waves (windy day) or peaceful sands. A favourite with motor caravans and campers, or families out with their children. Path goes to the top of the cliffs where you can walk for miles with awe-inspiring views. On windy days, there are lots of sand dunes where you can tuck yourselves away in the sunshine, or walk along the river, and not see another person all day.

“A fantastic beach”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 10, 2012

Great for surfers, familes and everyone in between. A fantastic caf/restaurant overlooks the beach - simple but good value. Lots of rock pools to keep the young ones entertained and as it is the mouth of the river, even when the waves are pounding there are safer shallow spots for little ones. Brilliant.

“Beautiful beach”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 30, 2012

An amazing beach with sweeping sands and deep sand dunes. A river runs into it so there is plenty of space and lots of water. Two great beach bar/restaurants are situated either end with refreshments and toilets. A great place to sunbathe, or surf.
