“Lovely Break”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 8, 2013 for a stay in September 2013

We were booked in for a lodge for a couple of days but when we arrived we were given the bungalow which was a pleasant surprise. Really enjoyed our two days in the area....remote, relaxing, unspoilt and scenery stunning.
The bungalow was excellent ..plenty room, all we needed was provided, clean and well maintained.
Friendly greeting and overall a great value for money holiday.

Would love to come back and highly recommended.

“Comfortable bungalow in heavenly location”

It's a beautiful drive over Mam Ratagan pass to Creaghmhor bungalow, situated on a working sheep farm in the middle of a valley, hillside on one side covered with heather and granite, the other more wooded, birds, wider views all around. View from garden table or window first thing in the morning is lovely. The bungalow has very good facilities - dishwasher, tumbler drier etc - and is spotless. Well presented if conventional decor. Efficient heating. Our only grumble was that we would have put the double bed in one of the larger of the three bedrooms. The owner Effie Lamont lives in adjacent house, is charming and very helpful - suggested where to shop, and dealt with our unfamiliarity with Sky tv patiently. I liked the fact that the chalets on the site - which looked comfortable inside - fitted into the landscape. It's always interesting to be on a working farm and watch the activities and funny expressions of the sheep. The enthusiastic visitors' book at the bungalow testifies to how much there is to discover all around Glenelg, ancient brochs, valleys, the characterful Glenelg Inn, Plockton, the tiny community-run car ferry to Skye. We did not use the latter due to poor weather but went over to Skye on the stunning bridge. Skye is famous worldwide and totally deserves its fame. We had a delicious lunch at the grand but friendly Kinloch Lodge Hotel (value for money considering its elegance, service and extras such as canapes). Must go back to do a boat trip from Elgol. This place gets into your soul even if the weather isn't perfect. We were happy with the bungalow, especially because of its memorable and peaceful location.
