“Fantastic stay”
Reviewed April 3, 2014

Recently returned from a fantastic stay at the Kintail Lodge Hotel. The hotel was really relaxing and we all received a warm welcome from the staff. The rooms were well appointed and very comfortable. The public areas are quiet and well furnished. The staff at the hotel are the real selling point. We have stated a few times and we are always impressed by the way in which everyone is made to feel so welcome. The bar is a great place to enjoy a drink and to eat. The menu is extensive and there are always daily specials highlighted on the board. The quality of the food is outstanding. Breakfast is a MUST!!! Great value for money. A real gem in the Highlands!!! Fantastic location to get around the West Coast of Scotland. The hotel will provide you with a hearty packed lunch for those days you chose to take to the hills. Again, the packed lunched are of a high standard and good value fro money. Will certainly return - in the not too distant future I hope. Would thoroughly recommend a stay in this hotel. The staff will make you feel very welcome. It is great to see a privately owned and run hotel paying so much attention to detail and to ensuring that you enjoy every aspect of your stay.

Room Tip: All the rooms we have stayed in are of a high standard.

I always look forward to going to the Kintail Lodge. It's in a beautiful spot on the loch-side, perfectly situated for getting into the mountains. Michele, Marianne and the team are most welcoming and hospitable, which sets the place apart.

At very short notice Michele and her team helped us host our wedding reception and also provide accommodation for all our guests for 2 nights. From the first phone call through to checking out the team were helpful, friendly and accommodating. Going the extra mile to ensure that it all went smoothly and making everything so easy for us.

Breakfast, the bar food and the wedding meal were all very delicious with great sized portions. The selection of beers and drinks were fantastic too.

On the evening of the wedding we took over the bar area with a party atmosphere and we were given free rein to enjoy the night how we liked.

Totally perfect weekend in an absolutely beautiful location. Can't thank the team at Kintail Lodge enough!

This seems like a standard lodge but actually the rooms are clean, comfortable with cosy interiors. The staff are welcoming and the location is absolutely spectacular.
Food is of a high standard considering this is just a small place.
Nicely surprised.

We stayed at the Kintail Lodge for 2 nights, as we were there for a wedding. We had one of the 2 superior rooms - great view of the loch!

Michelle and her staff are very warm, welcoming and helpful. Everything is super clean and cozy, down to a nice fire in the sitting room. One morning, I sat for a couple of hours in the lounge, next to the radiator, listening to some of my lectures, and had a lovely time.

The food there is lovely, too. Whether you eat in the bar, or eat at a function held there, the food is very tasty, and everyone even had a nice hot meal! (not always possible at a function). I had the Cullen Skink and the risotto - both delish!

My only complaint is the bathroom - I know the building is old, but my poor husband could hardly squeeze in the tub! (no shower, just a hand held thing)

All in all, however, a lovely visit. I wish, however, they would charge by the room, not pp per room - this is an outmoded way of charging, and winds me up.

Room Tip: Room 1 is lovely, and overlooks the loch

On a very cold December day with a biting wind the pub area was just not warm enough. It is quite cold looking inside with an open run down billiard area. We had to move away from the single paned window because it was so cold but nice food well cooked but too long a wait for it.

We've stopped at the Kintail Lodge many times now and my wife and I stayed there some years ago. It is never anything but excellent. Now when we are in the area we go out of our way to eat there. The portions tend to be sized for hungry hill walkers, but it's not quantity over quality as what is on the plate is always delicious.

The room is pleasant, especially if you can get a window seat overlooking the loch. The staff are friendly and efficient and the prices are typical of the Highlands, which makes it reasonable for what you get.

Recommended.
