This was our second holiday staying in Dornie. We have eaten in The Dornie Hotel numerous times in the last 3 years. Ok.
This is a local pub firstly with bags of character with locals which is always good. If you want a la Carte look else where. This is really good pub grub in Dornie.you are in the highlands which are very laid back & as my other half says a throw back, & this is it's charm . There is nothing wrong with the food. The food is very good & be fits it's surroundings. This part of Scotland largely untapped as far as we can see & this adds to its charm. Would recommend for good hearty food. The staff are very polite & friendly. Would recommend highly

Myself and family were staying in a local hotel while on our way to skye and decided to stop of at the Dornie hotel for dinner. I was not impressed. The food was of a very poor quality, the so called "fresh haddock" was not fresh and it could be easily argued that it was not haddock at all! The muscles were also poor. They were not fresh and were incredibly dry. The restaurant was cold and uninviting the only upside was that the staff were friendly and helpful.
I would recommend this restaurant  to anybody who likes to eat in cold uninviting surroundings and enjoys receiving poor value for there money!

Our B&B recommended the hotel for our evening meal, and we were not disappointed. We both had a good plate of really hearty pub grub. Dessert menu was a bit limited, but we enjoyed what we ate. Fab coffee to finish. Staff were extremely friendly, helpful and attentive.

However, it was far too expensive - apart from soup of the day, all the starters were £6+, so we only had 2 courses, and our bill was too dear for what it was. But, we WOULD eat here again.

Note: as we left and kitchen was due to close, a group of 14 Italian visitors arrived and asked if they would be able to have dinner. The group included 3 wheelchair users, 2 young children and the staff could not have been more helpful and accommodating to them.

We stopped here on the way to Skye. There are very few restaurants/cafes on this road so they have a captive audience and were quite busy. The barman/manager? seemed very unfriendly and as the charge for a prawn sandwich with some salad and crisps was £8.95 we shared one between us. It was very disappointing and I definitely wouldn't recommend this pace.

I've unfortunately visited this restaurant with a friend on our way back from Skye Island and we wish we wouldn't have stopped there! £12 for a horrible burger with absolutely nothing in it except the disgusting meat, £8 for a very small goat cheese thing on a ridiculous black pudding.... £20 wasted.
