We found this tucked-away hotel when seeking accommodation online when we were in the visitor centre at Eilean Donan castle. It sits on a tiny shingle beach (frequented by local sheep) in a pretty spot overlooking Skye. It is run by lovely people. The room we had overlooking the beach was bright, clean and comfortable. The dining room was closed the day we were there, so we couldn't sample the food, but breakfast was excellent with great porridge and maple syrup, eggy bread and bacon! Don't undertsnad the reviews complaining the decor is dated - it is charming and serves the local community as well as visitors.

Well equipped, clean and comfortable providing a fresh room and a terrific bathroom.Breakfast was good traditional fare. The owner Andy is a bit of a character who is ever wiling to help and never walks if he can run! Beautiful setting a few minutes from Plockton which must be one of the most exotic villages in UK.

We were staying in a cottage in Erbusaig so only used the hotel for a meal on our first and last night. The service was informal but very good and the standard of the food was excellent. It is worth booking a table and eating earlier as you are more likely to have a seaview table - not that it makes any difference if it's cloudy! Erbusaig is a tiny hamlet with beautiful views out to Raasay and Skye which are even better with a good sunset. You might have to move round outside to avoid the telephone lines in your photos - I thought I had missed them all til I got back home and uploaded the photos onto the computer.

This is in a lovely spot between Lochalsh and Plockton. A group of us stayed on business. If you want to be in the thick of things, don't come to this hotel...it's in the thick of nothing. That would be one of its charms.
The couple that run it couldn't be more friendly and helpful...although it seems to be run more like a hobby than a business. There aren't many staff and, if I remember rightly, some nights you can't even get food...unless it's a take-away.
Decor wise, the main restaurant and bar areas are a bit tired. There are lots of horse racing bits and bobs around.
The large lounge is comfortable...this was the only place I could get wi-fi. There is plenty of reading material though.
The views out towards Skye (?) are stunning if the weather is good.

What a lovely hotel. We couldn't believe our eyes when we arrived at Tingle Creek. The reception was really friendly and we were informed of places nearby that we could visit. The location is just awesome and it seem al the sorrows of the world does not exist. We chose Tingle Creek because if its location and was not disappointed. We enjoyed a lovely dinner. We triend the Haggis starter served with wiskey and decided to have haggis again.

We spent a lovely night at the Tingle Creek - and wished it could be longer. Lovely food, comfortable accommodation and a warm welcome for the doggies and the teenagers. Beautiful surroundings and a lovely host. We will be back.
