We decided to eat here for the last night of our Honeymoon and also my 40th birthday. We had mussles to start and they were amazing, really beautifull.....but unfortunatly the main course was dreadfull. I had the guinnes and ale cassarole with dumplings which was watery thin, chewy , fatty cuts of meat I couldn't eat and basically tasted like the dregs of the pot. The vegetables were over cooked, washed out beans and very palid looking red cabbage with 3 small new potatoes. My hubby had the sea bass which was ok but unfortunatly came with the same washed out veg which looked and tasted like they had been cooked last week. I was extreamly dissapointed and we did not stay for a £6 dessert. £42 for two starters, rubbish mains , a pint and a soft drink. I feel like we should just as well thrown the money into the wind and rain outside. Spoilt my birthday. Its a real shame as the landlord was lovely and friendly, very welcoming.

recently went to tingle creek for a meal.Everything on the menu sounded really good with competitive prices.when we arrived at the hotel it was friendly and the staff seemed really nice but in the bar where we had our meal(choose the cheaper option)theyre seemed 2b no atmosphere shame really coz its a quirky lil place. After ordering the seafood we were informed that theyre would b less than there should b due to the fishermen not been out that day(kinda makes u wonder how fresh it actuallly was)in the company they didnt want to question or complain they said this was fine, when actually it wasnt i personally think u should b told when it was caught to make a better decision.Anyways after a long wait the food arrived not hot just warm the salad that came with the shellfish was not good and the fish its self was meant 2b hot but was cold. The bread that accompayned it was good but was it homemade i have my doubts. The steak was really tough yes was asked for medium done but come on guys that was a discgrace..I had the scampi which i have 2 say was the star of the day was really good and the chips well enjoyed again if it was hotter would have been so much better and this review would b much better..
Where we were sitting in the bar theyre was cobwebs and wires hangin from the ceiling probably just an oversight in the cleaning but does make u think yes every1 has cobwebs at some point in there house but u wouldnt leave them there surely if ur going 2 get the paying public in and for meals??
One last thing when we had our meal theyre was no offer of any sauces, where as other places thy offfer u and u do not have 2 ask again maybe just an oversight but am afraid guys i will not b back shame coz like i said earlier its a lovely quirky little place

In response to this review I will rely on the common sense and intelligence of other readers to draw their own conclusions.
You can see from other reviews that we are passionate about what we do and pride ourselves on providing first class service. Our chef provides good quality food, using local and fresh produce, at an affordable price. We would just say to people reading this, why not come and try a bar meal and see for yourself. If there’s a real problem then let us know at the time and we will solve it there and then. Don’t be vindictive through Trip Advisor.
