Second visit to this market as I can't forget about sea food I had last time , not only wish also lot of local products such as souvenirs , local food , and my favorite BBQ !
You can do BBQ in the market which come with certain amount of sea food and vegetables . If you need more you can go and buy from the market do the BBQ ,
Market is just by the Japan sea !! Go for a walk behind the market as well for nice views !!

Clean modern fishmarket. Lots of local produce and not only fish is on sale here. There are several restaurants on the second floor that open at 11am. Had lunch at Kagaya Japanese Restaurant. May need to sit on tatami if all the "western" tables are taken. Food is above par and although the waitresses do not speak English they are still very helpful.

This is one of the main attraction of Nanao city. This touristic food market is selling all the local products (essentially seafood), souvenirs and you have various restaurants (even Fish and Chips restaurant for those missing that).
It's 7-8minutes walk from Nanao station, if you have 1 hour of spare time, it is definitely worth to visit there.

A nice market with fresh seafood and local delicacies but it's more than that: there are several restaurants to eat either that fresh seafood or other foods (got even two ice cream shops). Plus several nice souvenir shops with traditional Japanese sweets (omiyage) and other non-traditional artistic items. The surrounding harbor and park are also picturesque, great for a nice walk.

When you visit this region, got to visit here before you leave.
This place is a place to go if you are hungry and in the mood for more fresh seafood, and/or to get "omiage", souveniers, for you and your loved ones, or just to take a look at a local fresh market. What's interesting is that even if you can't bring them back with you home, you can ask them to prepare fresh sashimi for you, and/or chop it up for you to be grilled for an extra fee at the restaurant/grilling area.
