I knew we'd be ready for a few quiet days at the end of a busy trip to France. We were absolutely delighted with our stay at Villa Fol Avril. The food was the best we ate in France. (If you're there mid-week, don't miss the excellent fixed price meal. Wow!) The rooms were lovely and the service excellent. In fact, the owner helped us find so many things to do in the immediate area that we wished we could have stayed longer! Our three nights were barely enough to see this beautiful area and enjoy the villa.

We thought that this was the perfect village hotel. Great bedrooms and bathrooms, a lovely garden with a swimming pool and delicious food is served in the dinning room. The owners are charming and very helpful in every way. The village is very pretty and walks are to be recommended in this very attractive part of France.

We visited the villa fol avril mid week and booked through the I-escape website. The hotel is a hidden gem with beautifully decorated interiors, very friendly service and a good location for relaxing, but also I suspect a good stop-over on the drive to or from southern France from the UK. The owners website for the property does not do it justice and it appears that the best way to contact the owners is through the I-escape website. They could also advertise the value of options such as half board more effectively- although the menu is more reduced for the evening, the food is cooked superbly and as long as you like norman food this won't be a problem. Would definitely recommend to a number of people, either as a short break destination or as a stopover on a bigger journey.

My mother and partner stayed in this hotel for 3 days based on a recommedation in the NYT's travel section and then Trip Advisor reviews and I am indebted to both. I have stayed in luxury hotel in Europe, South, Central, and North America and this was one of the finest establishements in every way I have ever had the privilege of staying in. The owner spoke English and was friendly, engaging and went out of his way to make us feel comfortable and welcome. The rooms were beautifully appointed, serene and comfortable. The bathrooms were spotless, large and had the softess towels I've ever touched. We ate all of our meals there because the resturant was by far the best in the area. The one night the restaurant was closed, the owner, offered and made, reservations at another restaurant for us in a town close by. He just couldn't do enough for us. The area surrounding the hotel is just breathtaking and the people extremely friendly. I would not only return to Villa fol Avril, I would make it a point to return to France just to be able to stay there again.

We stayed here for one night, we booked through i-escape.com. The hotel was very easy to locate with sat nav, & in a beautiful area.
We were given a room upgrade free of charge & were the only guests staying. The room was loveley, nice & spacious, with a luxurios bathroom with plenty of toiletries.
Dinner in the reataurant was great, we decided to eat from the half board menu that included breakfast, which turned out to be excellent value with the current exchange rate. Several locals were also dining that night.
Breakfast next morning was layed out ready for us, it was very well presented with fruit, yoghurt, cheese, bread & croissants.
We will definately return next year, & use this hotel as a stopover before traveling further south.
