“Convenient location & comfy room...”
Reviewed October 5, 2013 via mobile

This was a freebie visit as part of a prize trip to IWM North.
But at usual price of £69 or so I guess it'd be a reasonable deal.
Our room facing away from ground but those inside looked good.
Room was quiet, comfy & clean.
Only a £10 cab ride from city centre with bar for a beer when we'd arrived & open lateish for a nightcap.
Would happily stay here again.

I was here for one night, the staff on the desk were ok. Nothing special. The bar area is the breakfast area in the mornings. I went up the stairs to my room and noticed that the carpet was ripped. I found my room, I also found that next door like to play music very loud. I could hear that for about 1hr, then they went out. I had a shower which was very good, great sized shower. Great bathroom! The room was quite cold as I stayed in exec room(with balcony) it wasn't an exec room. I've stayed in many hotels and this wasn't at all. No plug at side of bed so had to keep getting up when my phone went off. I saw flys in my room, also heard them when falling asleep. Free parking is good, all secure. Breakfast very basic. Wouldn't stay again.

Booked on basis of the positive reviews on here and not disappointed in any way. Staff couldn't do enough for you and having a room with a balcony onto the cricket pitch is an immensely enjoyable experience in good weather

Inall my travels to Mnchester this is one of the top places i have stayed.Very clean comfortable rooms with excellent bathroom and very friendly staff.Sorry i couldnt of stayed longer to sample breakfast but it looked plentiful.Close to metro and to Old Trafford football stadium...7 min walk.I will no doubt stay here again.

Room Tip: All seemed good to me but i say a room with a balcony looking out onto cricket ground is nice.

This hotel was recommended by a travel writer in a broadsheet so we booked on that recommendation.
What a find it was! The reception staff were welcoming and friendly, the executive room with a balcony overlooking the cricket ground was spotless, comfortable and well-appointed and the free breakfast was excellent.
The car park was free and totally secure, enclosed by the cricket grounds security railings and personnel at the entrance and exit.
Our stay of 4 nights was excellent value for money. It would put many city centre hotels charging 3 times as much, to shame. The PremierInn we stayed in for 1 night on the way home to France was a real let-down when compared with the Old Trafford Lodge and we shall certainly be back to stay on our next trip to Manchester.

Room Tip: Choose an executive room on the second floor - brilliant rooms, light and airy with a balcony overlo...

Easily found the lodge on a busy saturday match day. We were greeted by a friendly receptionist and directed to our rather lovely room. Had a great balcony room with the sun shining into the very clean and tidy room. Before leaving for the evening we popped down to the bar. Staff again were helpful enough to call us a taxi. Breakfast was continental and had a varied choice. We werent shown to a table but everything was laid out so it was easy enough to find our way around! All in all it was a very enjoyable stay. Thanks!

I've stayed here many times before and as yet have never been disappointed. The welcome is warm; the Executive room as pristine as ever only now with new, larger flat screen tv. A great location for an overnight stop. Clean, modern and ample continental breakfast. Excellent value for money.
