Trafford Hall Hotel
Ranked #13 of 15 Hotels in Trafford
Reviewed July 1, 2013

Arrived here Friday afternoon, reception open ( during office hours) arrival before or after this and you go through the bar, not a problem though as usually someone around and helpful enough. Room allocated and key given, along with easy directions to our room.
Hallways and decor fine, sure they could do with a touch up but which hotesl couldnt at this price!
Room was basic, tea and coffee facilities on the table, plenty of storage, nice flat screen TV, decent double bed with nice clean linen, clean towels available, generally just a basic room. Decor was tired adn definately needed a clean up, however at this price ( £33 per double room per night ) it was fine for what we needed, somewhere to put your head after a day/night on the town.
many people have complained about it being dirty and run down, however when your paying the prices this hotel charges you wont get the new bathrooms, new carpets and the usual trappings that other offer, if you want these then go pay MORE elsewhere.

the bar area is clean and tidy, sky TV, pool table etc, just like a normal pub.

Location.. well its a good few miles out of Manchester City Centre, a taxi from Picadilly is a tenner straight, however the Metrolink station is very close to the hotel ( when travelling to the hotel its off the Metrolink, out of the station, left, across the station bridge and left again, 250 yeards and your at the hotel ) Prices for Metrolink are 2.60 single or 3.00 return , off peak - before 9.30 am ), always get the return, its better value and runs till gone 12 on a night, extremely handy.

All in all this is a budget hotel and does what it says on the tin, my only caveat os that by the time you have paid taxi's into Manchester and back you may have been able to get a hotel in the City Centre, swings and roundabouts i suppose.

For the price we paid it was good value and not a bad location, we will be going again!

Bit of a negative title, but some of the reviews are scary.

Either I was lucky or they over stated. It is run down, but the staff were friendly, good attention at breakfast, and it is cheap.

Room had a mixture of bits of furniture, and sloped slightly. Not the best upkeep in terms of fresh paint, standard of curtains, but all tolerable.

I slept OK, food was ok, all in all, ok.

Stayed here as it was an ideal location for where we were goin to and time was running out for us to find somewhere, first impression when we pulled up was that it looked run down and we we not wrong, there was a notice on the main door to enter via the bar which was more the cellar dark and dingey where we picked up our key had to follow the paper signs on the wall directing us to our room, room was spaciouse a double bed and single, a worst for wear sofa and dressing table, large screen telly ( impressed with that ) the walls were in need of a lick of paint as there was lots of marks on them, Now the bathroom... the shower curtain was in need of a good wash, the silicon round the bath was turning black in places, some of the tile grout was black to, shower ok, towels white and clean, After our night out we went back to the hotel bar for a drink all we could smell was kebabs and chinese, they allow guests to order food in, on retireing to bed closed the curtain and the room was brighter than when it was in daylight, the room was at the front of the hotel and the spotlights iluminating the hotels signs were right at the side of our windows hence iluminating the bedrrom the thin curtains blocked no light out, the matress on the bed was hard and lumpy sheets crisp and clean tho, breakfast next morning was lovely, you could, have continental or full english, plenty choice of cereal, tea coffee ect. This hotel is badly in need of a full refurbishment from top to bottom and untill it does i wouldnt recommend this place

Stayed in this hotel as it was the cheapest in the area for work at Old Trafford. The room was spacious and came with a double and a single bed, both comfortable. The shower wasn't as powerful as I had hoped but did the job. The rooms also come with a TV with a wide selection of channels. Major plus is the free biscuits that the staff put in your room everyday. Needless to say those were eaten very quickly whenever they were replenished.

Be warned that there is no lift and rooms are located over 3 floors. The bar downstairs is great and the staff let us have full control over what we wanted to watch on the TV (Sky). The room and common areas were all clean.

Extremely close to the tram/metrolink (Trafford Bar) so easy to get into central Manchester (£2.60 for a single). And just a short 15 minute walk to Old Trafford stadium. The area isn't great but wouldn't say it was unsafe at all, it's just a bit run down.

Don't be put off by some of the negative reviews from other guests, I had a very pleasant experience here and would recommend to anyone looking for somewhere cheap to stay in the area. All in all, it's a 3 star hotel so not exactly going to be the Ritz but does what it needs to do.

I booked this room very last minute for two nights, and it was perfect for what I needed. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful and I was made to feel welcome as soon as I arrived. The room was ideal and very clean, and the continental breakfast was lovely.
I have never stayed in such a friendly hotel and would definately book with them again.

When we drove into the car park we were sorely tempted to drive away and find somewhere else. It really looks pretty awful outside.

However we did stay and had a comfortable and quite couple of nights, the room was spacious with comfortable beds although there was a sofa in the room that was seriously stained with goodness knows what.

The hotel is a 15 minute walk from Salford Quays and 2 stops on the metro from the centre of Manchester I was running the Great Manchester 10k so the proximity of the metro was a real bonus.

The staff are VERY friendly and helpful and the breakfast is very good. For what we paid about half the price of a Premier Inn we were very satisfied with the hotel.
