Description: Café Rouge is located on the first floor in The Orient - Europe's largest food court. Paying homage to the nearby Manchester Ship Canal, The Orient is themed on a steam ship, and the design incorporates influences from around the world, including China, New Orleans, Italy and Morocco. Our restaurant is a little taste of Paris, with its leather banquettes and spacious outdoor seats. A perfect place to rest after all that retail therapy!

“Average Meal - Slow Kitchen”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 21, 2013

Food was OK but nothing better than that. Service by a young Polish girl was great but her performance was hampered by a very slow kitchen. Having said that she dealt with the delays very well. Ate there because of good experiences in other Cafe Rouge's - have had better. With the competition in the Trafford Centre the speed performance & food quality needs to improve or custom will drain away.

“Tale of two halves”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 18, 2013 via mobile

Decided to try because of the set menu on offer at 11.95 two courses , my wife's 2 courses were excellent , and apart from the waiter warning her not to have Parmesan because there would be a charge , she really enjoyed the food . I on the other hand could have been served better food by my 3 year old grandson ! Prawns overcooked in a tomato substance to start , and a very strange hard and rubbery piece of chopped meat and fries for main , fries were hot admittedly ! Certainly not somewhere I would visit again , but my wife loved it !

“Very average but not a washout!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 14, 2013

Visited as a stranger and on my own , busy time I suspect as the centre shops close at 6pm on a Sunday and I started looking for somewhere to eat about 5.30pm. My preferred choice had already a 20 minute wait for tables so I happened on Cafe Rouge. Alot of seating outside and in and ended up inside , but did not mind this, service very prompt and friendly . Food filled a hungry hole but could not say it was exciting. Ate off the £11.95 2 course menu which was limited . Main mention to the waiter who, without raising an eyebrow ,gave me extra serviettes to take my lamb bone away for a patient doggy in the car,! Thank-you
