I arrived at the hotel for a 5-night stay and entered via the revolving door. The door pushed me from behind, causing me to lose my balance and fall. The door continued to push against me after I had fallen and did not appear to have an active safety device. I was injured and badly shaken sufficiently to ask for the incident to be recorded in the accident book. I suggested the revolving door should be placed out of use pending inspection but this was not done. I observed it rotating both whilst not being used and after use. It continued to do this throughout my stay so I used the alternate ‘accessible’ door on all occasions. This injury resulted in sleepless nights.
On Saturday evening, I returned to the hotel and discovered that my room had not been serviced.
On Sunday evening, I was unable to gain access to the hotel because the external push button for the ‘disabled’ entrance was not working. Unwilling to use the rotating doors again, I pressed the call button for reception but it was unstaffed. I tried using my key card but that didn’t work either, so I had to wait outside until another guest kindly pressed the internal button.
The walkway and car park were littered with broken glass throughout my five-night stay.More
