“Perfect Hotel with good value for the money”
Reviewed October 21, 2012

We had a great vacation with base at this hotel. The service from the personnel was at all-time outstanding and there is really at nice atmosphere. Rooms are very neat and breakfast was plenty and of good quality. The city of Balestrate is quite boring and the hotel is by far the best around. Very nice beaches only 5 min drive. Rent a car so you can move away from this village.

Just returned from a week`s break at this charming hotel. The view across the bay and the marina were wonderful .The staff were very kind and helpful. The room was really spacious and everything was clean and well presented. The food at breakfast had a wide choice of meats, cheese ,pastries ,yoghurts ,cereals and a cooked option as well. The evening meals were all prepared with fresh produce and were delicious..It is very well located between Palermo and Trapani by bus or train and if you hire a car as we did it is only a step away from the A29 between Palermo and .Trapani. . Did not use the spa facilities and thought the description of a swimming pool a bit of a misnomer-it was a large open air jacuzzi!!!!!.

Room Tip: we were on the ground floor with people walking past the window so would ask for a first floor room.

Arrived here to consider as a wedding venue. Wonderful food, served as they would were we to choose the location. Every course was finished to the highest of standards ad tasted superb! Although we did not choose this particular venue, it was in our top 3 due to the quality of food-very important to us. We didnt stay in the hotel, but were shown the rooms, wonderful attention to detail.

There is a harbour next tot he hotel and we considered arriving to our guests by speedboat-simply stunning disney/fairytale venue.

I took my sister here for her 21st birthday present and we absolutely loved it. The hotel was a very good standard and the views are beautiful. Breakfast is brill, lots of choice of pastries and continental options, cereal and yoghurts (there are some hot english breakfast options but I didn't try them). The menu for lunch and dinner looked very good but we didn't actually eat there. (we will have to go back!)

The pool is fairly small but I don't think I saw anyone else use it. The hotel provide towels for you to use either at the pool or you can get the lift from the hotel lobby down to the marina and walk (5mins) to a beach. The staff leave you to get on with your holiday but are very helpful if you ask for anything. I emailed the hotel before arriving and they booked us a transfer from the airport for 45 euros. The rooms are lovely and kept very clean. There were a couple of events on whilst we stayed at the hotel but they didn't seem to last very long or effect us, we just went for dinner in town and they are in a separate part of the hotel to the bedrooms and spa.

Balestrate is quite small and it was nice to escape the usual touristy hustle and bustle although there is a selection of different restaurants (delicious and good value) and shops. Also a couple of tour operators/tourist information which we booked a boat trip through and they speak english and are very helpful.

All in all a very relaxing and peaceful holiday, would happily go back.

We stayed here in July, and really liked this hotel and spa. A very relaxing hotel with a nice view over the marina. Clean. A charming, small city, close to both Trapani and Palermo. You can get to Balestrate by bus or train from these cities.
Best regards E., Norway.

The hotel looks very good on the web site and with the prospect of a sea view and balcony, we paid the extra £150 required for the added luxury. The sea view turned out to be more of a wall view but if you lean over the tiny balcony and look to the right, the harbour can be seen.....just. The balcony was tiny and was not big enough to sit out on. The swimming pool is tiny. Standing room only! The breakfast was ok, mainly cakes but there was the option of bacon and scrambled eggs. The hotel was clean and the staff friendly. Sicily itself....wow...beautiful scenery but there is a definate need for the Sicilain population to undertake the use of bins. Currently everyone uses the beaches or streets to throw stuff away. The beach to the right of the hotel was more like a landfill site than anything else. This was typical of nearly all beaches we visited on the island. The place could be spectacular if they cleaned it up. Not sure if passing aircraft are dumping rubbish over the island, or they just have no pride in it...whatever the reason, it was a real disappointment to be greeted by copius amounts of dog mess on the streets, litter everywhere and broken glass strewn all over the beaches.

The hotel itself is very nice. The rooms are nicely decorated and the patio as well.
But the following things are unacceptable for a 4 star hotel:
- lack of swimming pool
- lack of hotel beach
- lack of experienced staff
- lack of english speaking staff
- lack of balconies
Be careful, because every friday and saturday there is a wedding happening in the restaurant and below the windows facing the see. So after a nice full day trip you can listen to staff cleaning the plates, glases etc. and drunk noisy italians. During our stay on the beginning of july we have experienced 3 weddings !!!!
The management didnt even bother to

The other unbelievable thing is, that there is a railroad running ca 5 m from the windows facing the city. The train is crossing ca 20 times a day. The view from the window is on a ca 2 m high stone wall, behind which the railroad is situated.
mention in the booking information, that some of the rooms might be noisy during parties and weddings ....
The staff is nodding to everything you ask them but in ca 50% of cases they dont understand you.
After all, i think

Room Tip: first floor psa building
