We stayed in the Costa Azul having read the poor reviews on here and were dreading it. Having been and seen it for ourselves we have a totally different story to tell.... The hotel is excellent; friendly staff, superb receptionists that will help you plan trips around the island and a lovely quiet pool. The food is limited but very nice all the same. The breakfast is continental and pasta is your starter every evening. But then what do you expect....you are in Italy?! Snacks and lunch can be ordered throughout the day with no hassle at all. Although there is a train line near the hotel they do not run through the night and are infrequent enough to not disturb. We would recommend the train trip to both Palermo and Trapani which cost approx 10 euros per person return. Although don't go to Tranpani on a Monday afternoon as everything seems to be shut! The boat trip to San Vito along the Zingaro Reserve was also breath taking and well worth the 40 euros per person. Car hire...More
