Very comfortable room and amazing bath room, great break fast served by the very lovely owners Fiona and David who were also very helpful in giving advice what to visit in the area.
To reach it a car is required as it is in a remote and quite but beautiful area!

Thank you for your review, most of our guests arrive here by car, we are as you describe situated in a lovely secluded valley, but only a short drive takes you to the historic market town of Huntly with its variety of independent shops and fantastic farmers market held on the first Saturday of the month a real treat for food lovers. With the north coast only a short 30min drive and the Cairngorm National Park 30 minute drive to the south its easy to see a lot of the North East of Scotland while staying here at Coynachie. Thank you for visiting.

Fiona and David are great hosts...have wonderful rooms and serve great breakfasts. The surrounding countryside is lovely...I was working but wished l was walking!
The only downside is having to go out for an evening meal....I did not like the offerings in Huntly during January when the excellent Castle Hotel is closed for refurbishment, and so for a good meal you will need to be prepared to travel 24-30 miles round trip.
This is a lovely area to explore from a wonderful b&b.

My family stayed there for 3 nights in July 2009 just after it opened. The guest rooms were immaculate. The surrounding country side was beautiful with a great path to walk into the hinterland surrounded by flowers, cows and sheep. Fiona was the consummate host even while attending to her young boys who must be great help by now. Just a short 5 minute drive into Huntly. We will definitely stay there on our next visit to Scotland.

Room Tip: The upstairs bedroom included a huge separate bathroom with free standing tub. The views were breath...

Thank you for taking the time write your very generous comments about your stay here. We are really pleased that you enjoyed your visit here at Coynachie. And yes, our boys are a great help now, chopping logs and generally helping! Our boys have enjoyed growing up in the countryside, the walks though the native trees many of which are over 9ft high - apart from the oaks which are developing and growing slowly. Easy access to nature, fresh air, flora and fauna are only a few steps from the doorway. We try to provide rest, relaxation and good food indoors. Thanks again for your recommendation to others.

The accommodation was just as we expected from all the wonderful reviews. What we didn't expect was thefantastic way that Fiona and David were so very responsive to all of our requests sometimes helping us before we had even asked ~ like the scraper by the hire car on a very snowy morning!

Thank you, we are really happy that you were pleased with your stay here. We are well equipped to deal with the weather here which can be changeable! Many of our guests travel by hire car so we understand that they do not always come equipped with snow clearing essentials. Thanks again and hope you may be able to return some day in the future.

This is a wonderfully cosy guesthouse. The huge rooms have even huger bathrooms. The decor is very well appointed and the beds super comfortable.
Coynnachie is set in the most beautiful Aberdeenshire countryside with great walks from here to the remote Cabrach area.
Best of all is the breakfast with poached apricot porridge. All served by its attentive hosts Fiona and David.

Thank you for your lovely review. We are pleased that you enjoyed your stay. All our rooms are different as the house is old and so the rooms delightful unique. We know a good nights sleep is really restorative so have tried to ensure the beds are comfortable and the breakfasts tasty.

I had the opportunity to stay at Coynachie Guest House for three nights, and what a wonderful experience!! The facility is beautiful, very peaceful and located in a rural part of the North-East. The directions given on the website were spot on, so no difficulty at all finding the accommodation. The Red Campion room has a beautiful bathroom kitted out with Highland Soap Company bath products. Breakfast was first class and served in a room with a roaring fire. I had a home-made toasted almond muesli with fresh berries. Simple, but absolutely delightful. The option of a full Scottish was there, but ever so nice to be offered something different! Fiona was a wonderful host and the chickens running about the garden were a really nice touch. I think the Coynachie Guest House is a true taste of Scottish hospitality. Wish there were more like Coynachie in the North-east!

Thank you for your very nice review. We try to provide some rest and relaxation for folk whilst they holiday here. Life - even when on holiday - can be very busy with an action packed travel itinerary, so Coynachie can offer the perfect balance to a hectic day schedule. The chickens are free range and nice to watch, the six way marked walks are on our doorstep and easy, so perfect to finish the day with a gentle walk in the countryside close to nature. Highland Soap Company products, natural, organic and beautiful, bliss. Thank you again for your recommendation and hope to see you again some time in the not to distant future.

Stayed for three nights in the red campion room. The Bed and Breakfast is perfect if you are looking for a remote location (with no mobile phone signal!). The room itself was very comfy with a fantastic bathroom. It was also refreshing that my daughter also had a proper bed to to sleep in and not the fold up type that we have become accustomed too when we've travelled before. Breakfast was delicious with a special included every morning, pancakes with fruit and cream being my favourite! Fiona and David were very welcoming and very helpful when suggesting a few ideas for what to do for the day. Overall throughly enjoyable stay in a location which is perfect for venturing round Morayshire and the Cairngorms.

Many thanks

Thank you for taking the time to post your review of your stay here at Coynachie. David and I are very pleased to read that your family enjoyed your short break.

Red Campion room is a lovely room for families as there is plenty of space with both a double bed and a single bed and ample space to move around, which makes it easier for rest and relaxation, it also has a very large en-suite bathroom with walk-in shower. We are pleased that you enjoyed the pancakes at breakfast, we try to use local ingredients within the breakfast menu and have recently been awarded the 'Taste Our Best' Award in recognition this by Visit Scotland our National Tourism Organisation.

Coynachie is nestled in a quiet valley surrounded by hills (hence no mobile phone signal, but we do have free wireless internet access in the house and most mobile phone networks receive a signal within 1 mile of here!). A short 10 minute drive takes you onto the A96 (Aberdeen-Inverness road) where its very easy to get to Moray (Speyside - malt whisky galore!) or to the Moray Coast, home to the resident population of bottle nose dolphins. A 5 minute drive from here takes you to the A97 trunk road where you can journey into the Cairngorm National Park and explore all it has to offer. We are always happy to give any tips on things to see and do in this region and like to hear of your experiences of the visiting the area too.

Thank you for choosing to stay here at Coynachie and for giving you recommendation.
