On the way back to Siracusa, we stopped in Lido di Avola. We asked a gentlemen in front of the Boutique di Pesce for a restaurant nearby and he pointed us to la Taverna..
The restaurant is almost a "duomo di pesce", wonderful original decor, lots of ceramics, bottles of wine and a huge antpasti buffet. We had a nice dinner, pleasant talk with Chef Guarino and some table neighbours who came all the way from Udine.Ended up that one of the waiters was born in Heidenheim, Germany! Place to come back to!
