We have been visiting L'Era for about a decade, and it is very near the top of our "must visit" list. It is typically Spanish in that it is noisy and lunch happens at a fairly leisurely pace, but the food is wonderful. We have a paella mixta, (seafood and meat) usually for about 10 of us. The arrival of the huge pans is theatre in itself. They are happy to allow visits to the kitchen where you can see the food cooking on wood fires. Tips: book in advance, particularly in summer, and give the chicken livers a try as a starter.

We have been to L'Era twice (July 2010 and 2011) and fully enjoyed both experiences. This is not the place to go for delightful table service. It is a family business, incredible busy at times, and the service may seem unfriendly but is not rude by any means. The staff just do what they need to and do not get in the way. Reservations are a must as you may have to wait for a while otherwise. You go to L'Era for the paella cooked over firewood and it does not disappoint. A large salad is included in the price of the paella as is a fruit platter for dessert. You can order side dishes for appetizer and other options for dessert if you want. The food was excellent and we shall return for a third time this summer.
