My husband and I stayed in one of the two bedroom cottages at Home Place. The cottage was well equipped and the breakfast package was very good. The cottage smelled a little musty but they are old buildings. The food at the local pub was excellent and a great surprise! Definately worth a visit.
The location is quiet so perfect to get away from it all. For those who can't tear themselves away for civiliasation, beware, the phone singal is poor.
The spa was a welcome retreat after a day of exploring the area. Quite often we had the spa to ourselves. We both had treatments. A couples rasul, my husband had a massage and I had a facial, both very good and value for money.
Would stay again!

Good accommodation and friendly service in a beautiful location. We spent the weekend walking over Exmoor so it was great to be able to relax in the spa at the end of the day. The cottages were well equipped and comfortable and the owner was very helpful with info on walks etc.

Room Tip: We stayed in the one bedroomed cottage and it was lovely and cosy

I came across Holme Place when looking for somewhere a little different for a hen weekend for 15 of us & it certainly ticked all the boxes. We had the place exclusively which is hard to find, the spa was small but perfectly formed, swim spa jacuzzi that could fit 5 in the "bubble end" and 1 more in the "swim against the jet" end, 3 more in the steam room, 2 in having treatments and for those who were just too relaxed to move, some loungers in the spa area or a chick flick & glass of wine in one of the cottages!!

The treatment rooms were spacious and the therapists of good quality, so I would recommend having a bit of a pamper while your there.

It is centrally located so you are no more than 30 min from most of the local attractions, we did horse riding at Caffyns Farm & surfing @ Westward Ho!

The cottage accomodation has everything you need, TV, dining area, well equipped kitchen, comfy beds. We opted for the linen included option to arrive to freshly made beds and fluffy towels on arrival. The breakfast pack ticks the boxes as well, good quality bread, milk, tea, coffee & a selection of cereals.

Just a quick word of warning, there is almost no mobile phone signal, so if your someone who cannot cope without a phone glued to your ear this is not the place for you. For everyone else, peace and quiet in a beautiful tranquil spot.

Room Tip: Have the linen bundle, to arrive to pre made beds

I wanted to treat my wife to a pampering weekend away for her birthday and this was just the ticket. It was nice to be somewhere more personal than the usual. Great fun in the Rasul together, we must have had the spa to ourselves for a good couple of hours one afternoon.

This is a fantastic combination of privacy and pampering. The Spa is beautiful and just for people staying in the cottages. We'd been a couple of years ago and thoroughly enjoyed the spa and treatments. This time there were even more treatment choices available and the cottages had been refurbished and were really cosy. I loved having our own cottage, much better than just staying in a hotel room.

As with our last visit the therapists were brilliant. They're really experienced and know their stuff so tailored our massages to sort out our aches and pains. We tried the Rasul together this time and will definitely have this next time we visit, fun and therapeutic at the same time!

This really is a small, personal, hidden gem.

I wasn't sure what to expect from such an inexpensive spa but it turned out to be a really relaxing place.

The spa and treatments were wonderful, unlike some larger places I've been to we didn't feel rushed or on a "conveyor belt" and there were times during our stay we had the whole spa to ourselves.

OK , so the accommodation is of the "no frills" variety but perfectly clean and comfortable and the surrounding area is beautiful. I'm certainly going back next year . . .

On the plus side the SPA treatments we had were great, and the location is lovely, but and it was a big but....................

Maybe alarm bells should have gone off when booking our weekend stay, they quote you a cost, then you find out that bedding is extra and then towels are extra again adding £17.50 a person onto the cost. Well never mind I thought its all booked and we are off for a nice relaxing weekend.

Then comes the confirmation letter, more like a letter from some a solicitor, no cuddly feeling to make you feel good here, just warnings that your deposit is non refundable and the balance will be due of you cancel and they cannot fill you place. Next some rules about when you can turn up, and under no circumstance can you arrive after 9pm (unlucky if you leave London at 5.30 on a Friday night I guess, you'll have to stay somewhere else)

Anyway the weekend arrives but when we got there we were shown to our accommodation but it was freezing the heating had not been switched on (this during the winter and temperatures were below freezing at night). So I popped over to ask how to light the gas burning stove advertised in the promotional material and shown in pictures. , when I said we were cold they agreed to come and light the fireproviding we paid £20 extra charge, err just a little bit pricey for something you would assume is included in the price during winter.

Still now we had a warm room we went of to the Spa which we were told would be open from 3.30pm on Friday, oops maybe not, covers are on the spa, steam room is off and even when we complain it turns out the Hot Tub,spa is cold because its been on stand by.

All the above are a real shame, it could be a such good place but like so many parts of the English tourist industry the service is poor and there attitude seems to be that they are doing you a favour letting you stay their, well maybe they should remember who is paying.
