“Avoid the Restaurant at all Costs”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 26, 2012

My Husband and i dined here recently and weren't impressed with either the food, or the service. A limited menu and child sized portions, all served up with a dusting of paprika - one can only imagine this passed for presentation. As a teetotaller i generally order juice with my meal but was told they only had orange and apple juice, so i opted for the former. Unfortunately this was the concentrated stuff, and beleive it or not, served in a childs glass. I opted for the fruit salad at the end of my meal and was served a small wicker basket with an orange, banana, apple and a kiwi fruit; i was also given a knife, i had to prepare the fruit myself. The small town doen't boast many hotels or restaurants which is probably the reason this place has managed to stay open for as long as it has, there just isn't any competition. If you can, avoid the place and head towards Bayeux where you'll find decent hotels, excellent food, and service that is second to none.

Faded and uninspiring, this hotel is one to avoid.

Took a group of 10 guests here for an evening meal part way through a 4-day battlefield tour of the Normandy D-Day beaches. All the guests were English speaking and opted for the 3 course menu with drinks. The prices were extremely fair and the food excellent with sufficient choice of starter/main/dessert to please a very mixed group of diners. The staff were extremely pleasant, attentive and helpful. We will dine here again as the excellent food and atmosphere make for a more pleasing dining experience.

From the moment we arrived at the Brasserie to eat, we got the impression that we were a bit of an inconvenience. Unsmiling service which we had to work quite hard to get by having to call to get attention, despite there only being one other couple there. Uninspiring menu. Braised ham was in fact grilled and dry. Steak ok though luke warm with very few chips. I asked for a small salad (lettuce with dressing) and this did not go down well at all for some reason. The dessert of the day which we all wanted, was off, with no apology. They had a private party which arrived while we were there which may explain their lack of enthusiasm for us. This is not one we would recommend to guests staying at our rental cottage in the town. The other hotel in the town has much better service and food, go there.

We stayed here for one night on the way from the channel ports to Brittany. It's main advantage is that is close to the Autoroute. In fact that's its only advantage.

The room was basic with paper-thin walls such that the chap in the next room who appeared to go to sleep with the TV on had to be reminded with a bang on the wall at midnight to turn it off.

The meal in the restaurant was quite good, but the staff were indifferent and inattentive.

The buffet breakfast was also quite good, but insufficient cups were laid out, and the staff had disappeared, so we had to go searching in cupboards to find more!

I would advise to try another town!

We stayed here one night on our way back to the ferry . Rooms were clean , staff friendly enjoyed a good meal in the restaurant. Very familly friendly . Beds were doubles not singles though . Rooms for our party of twelve varied from adequate to huge . Decor not great but more than compensated for by other attributes. Town was very pretty.
