You know when you see a web site and you just don't believe the hotel can be that good...well Soulton Hall far exceeds anything you expect. The welcome was friendly, our room in the main house was large and stunningly beautiful, the food was beautifully prepared and served In the candlelit dining room. The hotel is run by the family and they just can't do enough for you. We are already planning our next visit.

Soulton Hall is a beautiful country house. We got married here in January 2012 and came back to celebrate our anniversary in 2013. We know from experience it's perfect for everything from parties for 100's of people to a romantic weekend for two! The Ashton family provide a warm and genuine welcome and their passion for their home shines through in everything they do. There is a range of accommodation from huge en-suite rooms in the main house (all uniquely furnished with antique and period pieces) to cottages hidden away in the grounds of the estate.

The food is traditional, British and delicious, the dining room was lit entirely by candles for our meal and we were lucky to be the only guests. We finished off with cheese and biscuits curled up on the sofa in the lounge with a log fire keeping us warm. Somehow, we had space for breakfast the next morning too which offered everything from fresh fruit and museli to a full English.

Alongside all this, Soulton is still a working farm and offers a very honest and genuine countryside experience - don't miss out on the chance to visit this wonderful home.

We came all the way from Hamburg, Germany, to spend a relaxing weekend in this idyllic manor. Flying to Manchester and then taking the train to Wem, the transport connection was perfect. The hospitality was perfect. We had relaxing walks accross the surrounding fields and forrests and the old manor with its fireplaces and beautifully equipped rooms gave us the opportunity to relax completely.

I couldn't more highly recommend a weekend away at Soulton Hall. Everything was perfect - from the food to the rooms to the scenic location to the lovely people. Breakfast and dinner were delicious, with dinner served by candlelight in a beautiful dining room. The rooms had lots of character and felt as though you were stepping back in time, while at the same time having all of the modern amenities you hope for and being spotlessly clean. The home is set on beautiful farm, perfect for watching gorgeous sunsets over the fields or going for a long walk before relaxing by the cozy fire in the living room. Last, but certainly not least, the people at Soulton Hall were incredibly kind and welcoming

Staying at Soulton Hall for the second time was an amazing experience. The hospitality that the farm provided was excellent, the food was very well cooked, the walks were incredibly pleasant and relaxing. In addition, staying in very old buildings (living a 16th century farm) is an experience I would recommend to anyone.

We had the most amazing time in Soulton Hall, the Tudor room is furnished with lovely antique furnitures and impeccable crispy white sheets and thick soft towels. Fire place not only fill the lobby with warmth but also wonderful smell. Delicious dinner -- wide range of wine choices from good value to special occasion bubbly -- My duck breast were perfectly done, pink and juicy. John and Ann are just wonderful hosts! They greeted us warmly, did not intrude when we played board games in front of fire place, but gave great advice when asked about where to go for hiking and running nearby, and we had interesting conversations from local weather, farming, history, generically modified crop to apache helicopters. This is a place with long family history and wonderful english hospitality which all make it very special.
