We've been for a few meals here recently, generally Sundays, there is a marked difference in the pub between Sunday lunch and Sunday evening, we are generally evening eaters but did venture in with family for lunch and found it to be very busy, with lots of families with young children and as a result we found it quite noisy. Sunday evenings are lovely and generally quieter.
The pub looks like it has been fairly recently refurbished, its quite modern inside, there is a wonderful huge open fire with sofas round it that is a lovely place to sit for a drink or before going to your table to eat.
We have found the staff very friendly, chatty and welcoming but not over attentive when you are eating. The food is very good, we have had Sunday roasts in an evening which have been every bit as good as the midday ones and the homemade pies are very good. A mention has to go to the chips, I'm not a huge chip fan but these are excellent BIG chunky chips that manage to be crispy on the outside and fluffy inside. I cant comment on deserts, usually too full…..
