“Location Location Location”
Reviewed May 15, 2012

Having spent a long weekend in Shropshire, we finished off with a visit to the Mytton and Mermaid en route home. What a fantastic location, on the banks of a very swollen River Severn, a picturesque building, next to a pretty church opposite Attingham Park NT. The Bar was very relaxed, a great feel to the place. The menu was contemporary, traditional with a twist. Service was spot on, nothing was too much trouble. Food was great value and superb quality worthy of its two rosette award. The Main restaurant menu was one of those where you cant choose what to have as you want it all! It was a great shame we didnt have time to stay for dinner and overnight, as the room we viewed looked enticing
As the sun decided to shine for us we sat outside on the lawn and enjoyed the views across the river, and then walked off our lunch by visiting the National Trust opposite.
Delicious food, attentive service, Good Value and a superb location 10/10!

“Loved everything”
Reviewed March 25, 2012

My fiancé and I are here last night for my 25th birthday. We arrived early for a drunk outside on the lovely lawn. Disappointed in their tiny range of cider but I love Aspalls which they did so it didn't spoil my night. We chose to eat in the bar rather than the restaurant and were seated in the same large room as the bar but not in the section right by the bar which was nice. Every course we each had was lovely, really tasty, and nice sized portions, generous but not daunting, and really well presented. The service was good, our meals came out at a nice time and our waitress was really friendly, and the rest of the staff seemed nice too. The prices are exactly what I would expect of posh pub food. We had a great night, I will go again and definitely be recommending it.

“not so fine dining”
Reviewed March 24, 2012

the free coffees offered did not compensate for dismal, flacid and poorly cooked fish and chips un-eaten [the local f & c shop would have been embarssed] and at £14.00 each!

“New Years Eve!”
Reviewed March 22, 2012

This is the second time we have been to the Mytton & Mermaid to celebrate New Years Eve and once again we were really impressed. We thought the first time was memorable and they may struggle to maintain such a high standard again but we weren't disappointed. The evening began with cocktails and fireworks and this was followed by an excellent menu. The service was attentive and the staff were obviously also enjoying their evening. Light jazz played in the background as we ate and this was followed by a lively disco to see in the New Year. Thank you for a great evening and we look forward to next year's celebrations.

“" Mothering Sunday "”
Reviewed March 21, 2012

I came to the Mytton to have a lovely family lunch for mothering sunday. The service was excellent and the chefs out did themselves once again with the food. I had such a lovely time even had a little box of chocolates from the waitress from all at the Mytton which i thought was a lovely touch.
Only complaint was that 1 family party had a screaming child which wasnt the hotels fault but thought the family was very rude about the situation. This hasnt put me off ever coming back to the Mytton again though, looking forward to my next visit.
