“#1 overnight hotel”
Reviewed May 25, 2012

I had an overnighter at this hotel whilst in transit.
Firstly, the free shuttle service from the airport was very quick and I did not have to wait very long.
The front desk staff was a pleasant fellow named sunil who was quite friendly. The rooms are clean and property itself well maintained for a non 5 star hotel. I would definitely recommend for an overnight visit.

Room Tip: Be sure to ask for poolside view

As per my title: I arrived to the location not expecting much but definitely did not expect (a) to be informed that I would have to be situated in the only substandard room available because of my late arrival (9PM)? although I booked and paid in advance (b) substandard room had a hole above the bathroom sink- complete with critters i.e. not geckos but something akin to a cricket(b) room located near the main reception area - where one could hear loud conversations, smell cigarette smoke, etc. Needless to say I slept lightly the first night as I was extremely paranoid. I was able to get a better room upon my request but had I not asked. . . Overall I figured out early that I needed to stay in the vicinity of this place as little as possible. The upside were delightful children of the staff (Shalini and her sister) and free wireless service and close proximity to the airport.

I stayed at the hotel overnight and I would never return, neither would I recommend anyone to stay there. Firstly, the room was not welcoming, my toilet cover was broken, the light in my bathroom was not working and it took them 2 hours to replace the bulb. Thats not all, in addition, the television made an annoying, high pitched, beeping sound that escalated when you turn up the volume. The chair in the room was extremely dirty and the walls are paper thin, if someone flushed their toilet or open their tap or even close their door, i could hear it. The list goes on, don't get me started on breakfast, which I did not take, TT$30 for bread and butter or jam, can you believe this, the big bottle of water and the small one is the same price TT$6. All this for $472.50 a night, tell all your friends and family to stay away from this "hotel", its more like dump.

Room Tip: Don't stay here period.

I stayed at this hotel overnight while in transit in Trinidad recently. It is only about five minutes from the airport and they provide a free shuttle service on request.
The building looks like an older house which was converted into what is essentially a guest house. The decor is very dated, but the facility looked very clean. The guest rooms are fairly small and the bathroom tiny, but for an overnight stay, I thought it was good value at $75 including transport. The International branded hotels are two to three times as expensive and most require a $50 return taxi trip.

Room Tip: Ask for one with a full size bathroom

Upon arrival to the hotel, it's a bit scary. Not at all what you would expect. It's off the beaten path and you have to travel a bit on a gravel road to get there. Once we arrived and unloaded, we checked in. This was our first encounter in T&T so we really didnt' know what to expect. The people were very friendly and helpful. There were 3 of us and my mom was traveling with her motorized chair. They were exceptional about helping load and unload it. The staff was great. The pool area is beautiful! There isn't much to do in there area except the airport and a shopping mall. This isn't a 5 star hotel by any means and if you are accustomed to 4-5 stars, this isnt the place for you. However, if you are looking for good service and a clean bed and good ac. This will fit the bill.. The do have a restaurant too. The food was ok, kind of pricey for the $$ but when you are hungry and don't want to pay taxi fare to go eat somewhere, you deal with it.. The cook was just delightful tho, I think her name was Donna. Overall, Id go back here but only for a layover, not for a destination..

This place is an absolute flea pit. Yes, it is close to the airport but so are the chairs in the departure lounge! In comparison, I would give the chairs at the airport 5*! There were ants in the bed and a VERY strange smell in the room. THANKFULLY we were only there one night. We were laid over (or done over...take your pick) here by Virgin following a bump off and were therefore entitled to a free meal but we decided to go out for food! The hotel reminds me of the Tarantino file "Dusk till Dawn" but without the good vampire bits!! Do not stay here- Go to the Holiday Inn which is a further 5 mins away!!

This person is that submitted this respond rightfully stated that they were held back from virgin atlantic airways. This person was a non paying guest who stayed at the hotel. However, they wanted to stay at a 5 star hotel, which we are not. The airline was responsible for all payments of accommodation and meals. The guest was displeased with the hotel and so decided to bash the hotel and its management instead of taking their complaints up with the airline. As you can see from the other reviews, this review is untrue and bias.
