We have an very enjoyable week here.
I think any longer would have become very repetitive.
Our twin three year olds loved it, although if they were older then may have wanted more things to do.
The food was good with lots of it. Each meal time there was a selection of British favourites as well as other Greek and Italian pasta dishes. The restaurants are entirely self service. The 'waiters' do not even bring coffee to your table at breakfast!
The whole complex has recently had an entire make over, so everything is in very good condition, from the pools to pathways, gardens and rooms.
There are a couple of negatives should be addressed. The room WiFi system does not work most of the time. There are a number of hotspots around the grounds which should provide coverage everywhere. In fact the only reliable Internet connection is outside the restaurant and even here it slows down after about ten minutes.
There are a couple of 'wired' PC's but these are almost always in use by kids checking their Facebook pages and playing games.
The usual poolside lounger reserving happens. There is a 'no pre-9am reservation' rule in place but this does not seem to be enforced. Although most of the time you can remove a discarded towel, and give up the bed if the 'owner' turns up (which most of the time they do not!).
There is the usual entertainment provided at the pool. A daily general General knowledge quiz, iFit Keep Fit sessions, Air Walkers, Canoe races, Water Polo and swimming lessons. The First Choice staff were considerate when asking if you wanted to take part, they are good at accepting a "No thank you".
I found it annoying that they keep their music playing all the time. It would be good to take your iPod and listen to your own music choice.
Kos town is a 2Euro bus trip away with buses running each hour. It is a lovely town with a marina and makes a welcome break from sitting by the pool.
The hotel and First Choice staff are very friendly and do work hard.
The hotel staff were always ready with a smile and a "hello". One exception is the main restaurant manager who could go on a 'smile training course'!
Our aircon remote control needed new batteries one evening. They were replaced within half an hour.
We were delayed at the hotel on checkout day for two hours. We broke out the swimmers and went poolside. We requested an extension on checkout time, it took two hours before they decided No! Maybe they should have a system for delayed checkout when this happens (considering this can't be the first drivers strike in Greece recently).
Despite these minor gripes we had a lovely holiday and would recommend it to others.
