We had to delay our 10 days in Kos because of a family bereavement and wondered if (a) the weather would have changed and (b) the hotel would be running down towards the end of the season. Glad to report we needn't have worried. The weather was glorious mid to late 20s each day, although at about 4/5 o'clock with the sun lower, it could be a bit chilly but not enough to pack up your stuff and call it a day. The hotel although only half full was perfect (not sure it would be so comfortable high season when rammed). Staff were friendly and accommodation good - although the plumbing needs an overall which is taking place when the complex closes towards the end of this month. The food was ok, plentiful if a bit repetitive. There were themed nights, French, Italian, Chinese etc., but there was always the usual pasta dishes and salads, so there was no need to go with the theme if you didn't fancy it. The complex itself is absolutely spotless. They even employ a man to sweep the leaves off the path when they fall from the trees. I can honestly say I have never been to a place thats kept immaculate like this one. Entertainment staff seemed friendly enough, although we didn't have much to do with them. But that said they are moving from the complex next year as its becoming a Thomsons Familities Hotel with a complete rebrand. This should be perfect as the facilities there are second to none with 3 pools, astro turf floodlit football pit, tennis courts (coaching available), volley ball court etc., 10 days were enough for us as we are not all inclusive fans really, preferring to go out and about and the only place to go was a walk to the local shops/bar (2 of each only) in Marmari, although there were close to closing for the winter break. There is an excellent bus service from the beach just outside the hotel that runs into Kos town every 30 mins. The trip takes about 30 mins and costs 2 euros. Lovely waterfront town with shops selling the usual tat, but also side streets full of charm with pavement cafes and restaurants. Well worth a visit.

Room Tip: Family rooms are massive - try to get one of those. Beds not comfortable :-(

Dear Guest,

Thank you for the great review of our hotel!
Since 2013, the hotel has a new management team, which has turned the Club Magic Life to a Holiday Village.
The hotel made a major renovation to all rooms and food outlets.
We are glad that you enjoyed your stay then, and hope to see you again very soon in this new concept.

Sincerely,
Philippos Stamelos

We have been to Kos quite a few times but this was the first experience with Magic Life. Brilliant, the staff are great, friendly and helpful. the food is amazing, (i put on 5lbs in 10 days) and the activity staff are fantastic. The Archery was my thing and i was named as Robin Hood. the rooms are good but the whole Hotel is being refurbished this month "October" so next year they will be even better. give it a go..........you might even like it. we did and we have stayed in many 5* hotels/resorts around the world.

We have just had a 2 week stay at Magic Life Kos, and it has been our best holiday to date!!
We arrived about 9pm on the Saturday night, fully expecting to be far too late for anything to eat, but no, the reception staff told us to go straight down and get a meal and do all the checking in when we had eaten. That was a bonus.
We found the room was perfect for us, our cases were brought to our rooms for us so we didn't even have to lug them about!!
The food was absolutely brilliant. There was plenty of different dishes to choose from. The theme nights were very good and gave you a chance to vary the food and try different things without the worry of going hungry if you didn't like it.
The rooms were tidied up every day, fresh towels, the cleaning staff were very good and friendly.
We never had a problem getting our sun beds, we managed to get our favourite ones every day. The pool areas were always very clean and tidy. The swimming pools were checked 3/4 times a day. We spent our days round by the relaxing pool, but there was always something going off for people and families in the activity pool.
The bar staff and restaurant staff were so friendly. They went of their way to make sure that you had a good stay. They were always up for bit of friendly banter especially about football. They
treated all the nationalities the same, didn't seem to be any favouritism like you get at some hotels.
The First Choice rep that is there is so friendly and from what we could gather would do anything in her power to mark sure you enjoyed your stay. We didn't have any problems atall, but some that did she got it sorted pretty quickly. She really was a lovely girl and on our last day took the trouble to come and see us before we left, she is a credit to the hotel and FirstChoice.
The only critisim I could say about the hotel was the night time entertainment, after a couple of nights you knew exactly what songs/music would be on and in what order. The dancers were very good and hard working.
Overall we had a fantastic time and the hotel lived up to its name MAGIC.

we turned up at the hotel at night time, we were worried about the amount of rooms in the hotel, but in the morning , we were surprised at the size of the grounds , and just how well spread the flats were.
The room was of a good size and very clean, the bathroom was smallish, but more than enough for our needs, as you dont spend ages in the bathroom, really wasnt an issue.
everywhere around the site was very well sign posted, and the grounds were very clean, ten out of ten to the cleaners, who work from first thing in the morning, until late in the evening.
The food was fantastic, at least 4/5 main dishes, lunch time, and evening. Each night they have a different theme, they change all the pictures in the dinning area, and wear uniforms to match the theme. unlike many places, the food was of very good quality, and as much as you could eat.
In the evening, the entertainment was really good, you had the standard young persons disco/function, but only for a short while, then unlike many places, where you get some poor chap playing an organ, and trying to sing, here the music was very good,
The beach is next to the hotel, nice and clean, the sand is cleaned during the day, you can do wind surfing/kayaking free of charge, and with tuition, the windsurfing you need to book on a three day course, which was very good, and last about 90 minutes each morning,
You can also sign up to mountain biking, with three levels depending on how physical you want to be.
You can play tennis, basket ball, volleyball, and many more sports,
A bus stops outside the hotel to take people out and about, we went to kos cost two euros, the first time, we had to stand up all the way, and the bus was over packed, so the next day, walked 400 yrds down the road to the next bus stop( turn left out of the hotel) we got a seat no problem.
The service at the hotel was really good, and the staff worked really hard to please everyone,
We rented two buggys , what a night mare, the thing kept back firing, had a split in the trye, and we did wonder if we would get back, the cost was 40 euros, ( we did have fun when we got used to it) but be warned, dont hire the beach buggys from the two hire companies next to the supper market, every one said the one over the road, by the junction, 1/4 klm up the road, even tho 5 euros dearer, were very good.
If you just want a lazy day around the hotel, not a problem, even with the size of the complex, the swimming pools were never over run with people, lots of people either go to the beach, out sight seeing, to either kos, or over to turkey, we never had trouble getting served, in the dinning room, the bar, the disco etc etc,
I did find that the hotel is really set up for germans, the staff do talk mainly german, about 75% of guests were germans,
But we would go back to this hotel again, we had a really great time, and was well worth every penny.

Room Tip: If you want to be near the swimming pool, dinning area, and main block, we had 653 room, , the noise does go on until 23,30-mdt,

I spent a week at Magic Life Kos with my two kids (8, 5) and they descibed it as "the best hotel we've ever stayed at!". The room was very comfortable and spacious. The hotel grounds are extremely well cared for; the facilities are well distributed. Even though the hotel houses a lot of guests, we never felt cramped nor that it was too loud.
The entertainment team was great fun - they're not too pushy and "in-your-face" like some of the hotels we've experienced. They were great with the kids!
The beach is right across the hotel and we always found sunbeds when we went.
There are three restaurants in the hotel, though we only ate at one the whole week. There was always a lot of variety and even being vegetarian, we had no problems at all.
I highly recommend Magic Life, especially for families. We're looking forward to trying some of their other locations in Europe.
