“Style (pretentious) over substance”
Reviewed September 25, 2012

I couldn't help but be lured to this place by the eye catching 'Sir Paul Smith' signed poster, endorsing this eatery....
Whilst looking very appealing from the street, this restaurant seriously failed to impress on many levels, although in particular the most important one, the food.
My partner and I ate here at the end of a week traveling around Tuscany, and I am shocked that this was not only the most expensive meal, but also the worst we had during our stay.
The dishes were over priced and under par. My partner paid €24 for a rare (uncooked) pork chop, with no accompanying vegetables, so he also had to order some white beans to accompany at €8. Making his main course €32, which would have been fine, if it were good. Alas it wasn't.
We shared a desert of chocolate and pare tart, which turned out to be a cake. When I asked for some cream to accompany this dry offering, I got a large bowl of semi warm custard. This custard, which may well have been from a tin, was the best bit of the desert.
If you want good food, avoid at all costs would be our advice.

“Best 'bistecca ala Fiorentina" !”
Reviewed September 5, 2012

We were in Enoteca many times and we can say that in this place we always had perfect bistecca ala fiorentina. We tried also a lot of wines and it was always very nice experience. The atmospehere in Enoteca Marcucci is tipical for italian restaurant & bar: a lot of people who knows each other, talk a lot and laught. It's a place where come famous italian people and many artists.

“Why so famous?”
Reviewed September 1, 2012

A lot of clients, perfect location and a very good wine list but... the waiters are conceited, boorish and the prices are absolutely crazy.

“What a disappointment”
Reviewed April 16, 2012

Having eaten here several years ago and with positive memories we headed back full of enthusiasm. The atmosphere was still fabulous but all the postives faded away from there on in. We were squeezed into a tiny table, almost sitting on the lap of our next door neighbours, who thankfully were very nice and at least the conversation was interesting. The menu was extremely limited - for primi if you didn't want soup there was only one poor pasta dish. Whilst the rest of the meal was ok it certainly didn't merit the 140 euro bill. The wine list is amazing, however to digest the whole thing one would need a couple of weeks and the waiter pressed us for a decision. WHilst the atmosphere is lovely I cannot recommend eating here as the price doesn't reflect the service or the quality. This is a wine bar with prices of a michelin star restaurant.

“The place to be if you want to see and be seen”
Reviewed January 24, 2012

This is the quintessential location for a dinner out if you want to mix with the locals. The right oness of course! Food is good, tables tiny and reservation is mandatory, as well as a very long wait. The prices range from expensive to ridiculous, especcially when compared to the other excellent restaurants in the same area.
