Took our 3 boys (ages 9, 7, & 4) on this hike and they did great. Near the top of Welch and Dickey, it was steeper, but with a little help, even the 4 year old was able to conquer it. If you stop at the first rock ledge, you are missing alot. The trail continues upward and is definitely worth the effort. Unbelievable views. The kids were exhausted after the 4.4 mile loop, but had a great time. If you are out of shape or have medical conditions, you should stop at thr first rock ledge (speaking as a physician).

On a good day, this is a great hike with scenic views. If it is wet or icy, beware! You do have to hike up some open and pretty steep ledges. This is not a beginner type of hike. Good footwear is a must. In any kind of icy or snowy weather, crampons are also an absolute must!

Beautiful trials ... it is about 4.5 miles if you do the entire loop.
Gorgeous views of the Mountains at top. Pack a lunch and enjoy the views...dog friendly too...Definitely recommend this. If you can't do the entire two sides -just opt for one, which is roughly a little over 2 miles. FUN FUN FUN!
