This is a spread out series of colonial style bungalows nestled amongst the pine trees on a hill just above the town. The bungalow we stayed at was single storey, spacious, with wooden floorboards and a large comfy bed. The air conditioner has only two settings - hot or cold. The bungalow had a large bathroom with separate shower and bath.
As the resort’s grounds are on a hillside, there are stairs everywhere, not really setup for guests with mobility issues.
The garden is well maintained and almost feels like an English garden.
It has a separate bar and pool room next to the main dining area. The breakfast buffet has a good range of local and Western choices.
We only spent a night there so didn’t really get to explore the grounds much but felt very relaxed there.

We stayed here for 2 nights and 3 days. We arrived early morning at 3:30 am at the hotel. The reception told us that they don't have any available room. We've waited until sunrise and found out that 3 rooms has no occupancy. We don't mind paying a little extra money to rest ourselves after a long journey of travel. It's about 2 kms walk from the center of Kalaw. Hotel was surrounded by cafés and restaurants so you don't have to walk that far. Rooms are reasonable, quite spacious. You may request for a heater. Breakfast buffet is more on to Myanmar food which you can eat at the balcony overlooking sunrise in the mountains. Clean and quiet hotel surroundings other than the train track right beside the hotel which 1st train trip passes at about 6 AM. Other than that if you're on budget you can stay here. It's value for money.

We stayed in this hotel for an overnight while exploring the fabulous, lush green countryside around. The hotel consists of several bungalows, rather say buildings, as some have 2-3 floors. Very beautifully cared gardens among them. We had a ground bungalow with a private terrace in front, very nice.
Room was spacious, with wooden floors and big comfy bed, TV, small fridge and AC (not needed, rather blankets at night). Wifi was working good. Bathroom was OK, with a shower cabin.
Breakfast is in a big hall, very good, with fresh fruit, pastries, jams and fresh made omelettes.
They have a pretty big pool, but a disappointment was it wasn't working, don't know why?? It was filled with water, but the fence was closed.
The hotel is around 30 min walk to the center of Kalaw village.

I enjoyed one night in this fabulous British colonial hotel. I had a huge bungalow and the garden around was just awesome. The wifi worked only in the dining room. The food there was authentic and delicious. Wanted to stay longer, but was inside of an organized tour. Good choice to stay here.
