We stayed from March 14 to 17 at this Bed & Breakfast. Ideally located for the downhill skiers it is also perfect for us cross country skiers. It is midpoint between the Mont Tremblant National Park xcountry ski trails and Domaine St Bernard and the Ptit Train du Nord trails. We had wonderful weather and enjoyed perfect conditons for classic and skating style cross country skiing.
Often when viewing a website, we find that the pictures hide imperfections and the real thing is not as good as it appears. In the case of Plumes et Glisse's website, it is the opposite. The room is roomier than it appears, the surrounding neighbourhood (park like forest) is better than envisioned. We come from a small town rural area and this place was even quieter than at home. The room and overall home is as comfortable as a high end hotel but with the warmth of wonderful hosts.
This was our first experience in a bed and breakfast and we greatly appreciated the company of Craig and Jenny, our hosts. They seem to have a knack for knowing when to leave us some privacy and when to have great conversations. We felt at home.
Their website shows the possible menus for breakfast but for dinner as well. At first we reserved for one evening meal only, hoping to visit other restaurants during our stay. After the first dinner we quickly revised our plans and enjoyed Jenny's wonderful culinary talent for the rest of our stay. The fisherman's pie is the best! As Jenny discovered our leaning toward eating well for our health, we were treated to a smorgasbord of lean and healthy options like natural yogurt with fresh fruit, fish, lots of vegetables. We chose for one evening to eat the Couscous, vegetarian style. It was as tasty as any rich foods we Canadians enjoy so much. People who like to eat more traditional should not worry though as the Irish stew that was being prepared( that we did not taste as we left the morning of St Patrick's day) smelled incredibly good. Jenny is a highly trained chef and it shows. If you have serious allergies to certain foods and are weary of eating in restaurants, I am convinced that you would be in good hands eating at Plumes et Glisse.
It was a great vacation.
