I decided to return to the Glenesk for a meal to celebrate a birthday and with friends over from Spain on the 21st September 2013 the Genesk was our first choice.
I love the Glenesk, so I hope my comments will be taken in the spirit they are made, in the hope it will help improve the Glenesk even more.
Booking in advance we arrived and enjoyed drinks in the bar before the meal, the service at first in the bar was a little disorganised and customers were served out of order, and I think we had been forgotten so went back to the bar to get our drinks order.
With the drinks served, everything settled down, and we were tempted by the variety of meals on offer on the menu and our order was taken.
Some of the dishes we ordered were, soup of the day, black pudding salad with duck egg £5.95) chicken and haggis (£15.95) steak pie (£13.05) Game sausages and mash (£14.95) Pork loin (£16.95) followed by, fruit crumble, and custard (£4.25) ice cream etc
The food was lovely, constructive comments would be, the pork was a little dry, and as was the Chicken and Haggis, with the lovely sauce if it was served with more sauce I think it would be a lot better, the fresh vegetables (one small dish between us all) is a little disappointing in you like your vegetables.
The service in the restaurant was great we were all well looked after, but can say the lighting is far to bright for a relaxing evening meal.
We will certainly be back again.
