Sunday lunch on a bright February day, we made a last minute booking....they accommodated us, but in the upstairs room. Don't go there unless you in big group/private party. WE were group of four and shared it with 2 large families of walkers, all ages, unfortunately the kids were the type allowed to roam, crawl under all the tables while mummy and daddy bellowed at the top of the voices encouraging them.. Being a room away from the main restaurant they probably thought this was fine, and I can just about understand that. Point made....avoid upstairs.Limited but nice Sunday menu, mainly roasts, but good quality, including nice salmon dish. Wine list good too, lots avail by glass/carafe. £35 per head, only me drinking, so not cheap, only 2 puds also. All enjoyed the food.
Very good service, waitress very helpful.
Had a peek at main dining room on the way out, definitely better than upstairs although still feels a bit like someone's house, and some of the tables right by the door must be inconvenienced by clients coming and going.
Big car park, plenty room. Pub situated by busy country road on tricky junction, take care.
