Sunday lunch on a bright February day, we made a last minute booking....they accommodated us, but in the upstairs room. Don't go there unless you in big group/private party. WE were group of four and shared it with 2 large families of walkers, all ages, unfortunately the kids were the type allowed to roam, crawl under all the tables while mummy and daddy bellowed at the top of the voices encouraging them.. Being a room away from the main restaurant they probably thought this was fine, and I can just about understand that. Point made....avoid upstairs.Limited but nice Sunday menu, mainly roasts, but good quality, including nice salmon dish. Wine list good too, lots avail by glass/carafe. £35 per head, only me drinking, so not cheap, only 2 puds also. All enjoyed the food.
Very good service, waitress very helpful.

Had a peek at main dining room on the way out, definitely better than upstairs although still feels a bit like someone's house, and some of the tables right by the door must be inconvenienced by clients coming and going.
Big car park, plenty room. Pub situated by busy country road on tricky junction, take care.

My Husband took me for a belated valentines night out without the kids! We were shown to a lovely corner table. We had already viewed the menu online so were happy to order straightaway way. We both had the Ox cheek which was delicious we cleaned our plates! Dessert was pannacotta for my husband and ice cream and biscotti for me, both again were absolutely delicious.

Would hesitate to recommend this restaurant and will definitely be visiting again.

Was looking forward to a visit to this restaurant. Was for a special occasion. When we arrived we were not greeted by anyone and stood by the door for 5 minutes before anyone appeared.

Waiting staff weren't particularly friendly, food was okay - average at best and very overpriced. Restaurant is nice inside, but no real atmosphere (fake candles on the tables!?) and we were sat by the toilet. To top it off, noticed afterwards that i'd been charged for a bottle of wine when had ordered a carafe.

I'd give this place a miss - it's a bit of a way out and not worth the effort. Wont be returning. Didn't live up to expectations.

We recently had a family meal for 17 in the ginger fox's private dining room upstairs to celebrate my father in laws 80th birthday. The atmosphere was lovely with lots if candles lighting the room. And old pictures they allowed us to put on the wall. The staff were totally on the ball with all our requirements and allowed us time to make speeches without any interruptions of clearing or serving food. The food was very good and served simultaneously at each course. The staff were so accommodating and friendly it really made the evening! Well done ginger fox.
