Inthira Hotel
Ranked #2 of 3 Hotels in Champasak Town
Reviewed January 10, 2013

We thought he Inthira was a great hotel. Champasak is a very quiet small village and there are not many other places around. The hotel looks very small and not much from the outside (almost like a house), but the restaurant is great and serves good food and drinks and the staff that work there are charming.

We booked a duplex room which sits over two floors and is big. Our room had a huge shower room, big comfy bed and nice furnishings, although I must confess we didn't use the downstairs section very much.

The best bit about the hotel is that you can hire a bike (or get a tuk tuk if you prefer) down 5km to Wat Phou and that is definately worth a visit. We loved doing the bike ride (the bikes were cheap to hire - can't remember but about £1) - it was hot, but so nice to stop where we wanted and to feel free of any vehicles. Once at the ruins you can leave your bike and walk round and have a good look.

Room Tip: We loved the duplex rooms and the huge bed

The Manager, Mr Toi, is extremely helpful! Helped us with bike rentals, boat tickets, ran our luggage to the jetty, made everybody feel important! The efficient and friendly staff served great food. The hotel is situaded in the middle of the (only) road in the town and within easy reach to the Wat Phu temple complex.

Room Tip: Choose a room facing the road, the traffic is not disturbing!

We booked a bungalow room which was less expensive than the villas and more expensive than the other rooms. We were very happy with our choice as the bungalow rooms were spacious and charmingly decorated. The villa units looked quite sterile.
ranThere is no tv due to poor reception in the area, but reception provides a range of videos free of charge, a number of which were quite good, not just the blockbusters.
The hotel is located on the long main street of the small town so you can eat here or elsewhere in town if you prefer. Prices are a bit higher at the hotel restaurant but food was fine. We rented out bikes accross the road.

Room Tip: Don't go for the more expensive units, they lack all charm whereas the bungalow rooms are lovely...

I was a bit surprised by the surroundings of the hotel, but when I discovered my room I enjoyed a lot. A beautiful, spacious and well decorated room. A large bathroom well equipped and also a n open air shower. Air conditionwork very well ans the space was very silent.
Restaurant was a good experience and the breakfast was really honorable. Definitely a place to recommand if you want to visit wha Phou temple ans take your time.

I stayed on the suite room #6, the room was old and poorly maintenance, the faucet is dripping, the rain shower is leaking. The ceiling was damaged. I think the hotel property really need maintenance. Apart from the condition, it's a good stay.

Room Tip: Suite room is the traditional style house, but the superior room is 2 floors design, which as might...

We enjoyed our stay at Inthira: our room was nicely decorated and clean, their staff was quite polite and friendly. Although the food wasn't really great, it was very nice to have a drink downstairs, relax and have a word with other tourists.
